2011 or so, I was working at the cold stone creamery in Medford Oregon. I helped a group of men with accents order some ice cream with some shots of espresso. They said they were a band. What band? Hammerfall. Later my friend killed me for not getting an autograph 😂

Daaaamn, that was badass. I'd probably flip it out If I encountered these guys in real life. I'm 25 and been listening to them ever since I was 12, and they have a very special place in my heart. I've heard maaaaany bands in my lifetime of listening to metal, but they, they will always be my number 1. I think I'd probably even cry If I encountered them in real life, because of the sheer amount of nostalgia their older songs give me, and the memories of how their music got me through some of the roughest times.

My point exactly! It's not about an epic fight, but about the refusal/inability to acknowledge his mistakes, mentioning also how heavy a burden it is(he hopes it's not too late to change, he tries and fails to change it repeatedly). This song surmises perfectly the weight of the Sin of Pride, which is a barely(if at all) hidden message that makes just that much more awesome and deep!

The Marine Corps has a special operations division called "Force Recon" and we basically go through the same rigorous training as our Navy counterpart the much more well known "Navy Seals" but we must first become Marines which means we have to go through Marine Corps boot camp and also officers need to go through OCS and then serve in the Marines and have a perfect military record to even be considered for "Force Recon." Even after all that very few Marines ever become a member of "Force Recon" and the attrition rate is extremely high. It has to be because of the nature of the missions that Force Recon is tasked with are usually very dangerous/high risk, very physically/mentally demanding and almost always highly classified. I am sorry I rambled on a bit but the reason I told you that is because the unofficial motto of "Force Recon" is "Last Man Standing" and this song is pretty popular with many "Force Recon" Marines.
