You just got a new fan! I’m going to be 66 on July 31 and I live with my nephew and his family who help care for me and they have a calico cat named Fiona that just started sitting on my desk next to my I pad and watched your video with me! A couple of times when you held up a bass she would paw 🐾 at it on the screen 📺 like she was trying to get it. We both love your videos and appreciate your work. Thanks for taking us along.

I, too, bring more gear and rods and end up using only 1 because it seems to work. However, yesterday, I went with a ton of stuff and ended up using some variety of it all. Mainly because I was set to be out all day, and as such, the conditions and targets change. It started with trying Topwater with a skitter pop, getting no success, then as more boats came out, I switched to a grub on a weedless jig. When those failed, I went in, had lunch, and tied on a wacky worm and a 3/8 Oz Husky Jerk. I then started ripping out bass with both. The only thing that I wanted to try was a Carrolina Rig worm, but my fish finder died, and I wasn't sure where the drop-off was. So I had to bail on that. I also hadn't fished for so long and so I am throwing as much as I can into the water and remember what it was for.

@@garvindreis The other day, my dad and I were bass fishing. I was using a variety of top water, crank and spinners, while he went with the wacky worm from start to finish. I didn't have a lot of success but he caught quite a few. I said that I was getting their attention and he was there to get the bite, so really we both caught the fish. :) LoL. Have fun out there all!

Hey ND. In my case, the wind is my friend, but i also fish lakes and dont have a peddle drive or trolling motor so i will paddle up wind, throw a drift sock in, and go with the wind, covering as much water as i can. If you want, you can join me smashing Large Mouths on Spectacle Lake near Cambridge, MN.

@brandons.3097 14 күн бұрын
Hey brother. I was watching your other catfish videos when you were using shrimp and getting your bait stolen. You know you can buy this stuff called Atlas Mike's Magic Thread? You wrap it 3 times around the shank, wrap it all around your bait(this even works with chicken liver btw), then wrap it 3 times around the shank again, then break it off. You don't even need to tie any knots, and it helps to keep your bait from being stolen so much and gives you a better casting distance with soft bait.

Thanks. Small mouth are the most fun and hassle free fish in these parts, IMO. In one day of float tube fly fishing in a remote-ish no-motor lake a few hundred miles northeast of Matt's home, my fishing buddy and I caught over 400 smallies. It was pretty much like 9 out of 10 casts. I was even able to target specific fish in a group at times. Best day of fishing ever. We stopped counting at 200 a piece. My best was a 22", but on the skinny side. His best was a fatter fish, but 21.5".

I've never had braid pop so close to the pole. Not sure if I had a spot that was roughed up for fishing the pads. No branches around that lake so all I can think is the thick pads I fish had compromised the braid. But in the 2 weeks I had it I fished once prior to the day it broke. I've never had an issue with this brand over the yr I've used it. So hopefully it was a random issue
