Derek Miller decided that he was going to race in the toughest single day offroad race in the world...two months before the race...without a race ready vehicle. Once he made that decision everything he did was aimed towards getting his 2002 Toyota Sequoia turned from a street-legal trail rig to a racecar that could pass the stringent race guidelines for the vehicles. Just seeing the green flag at the start line was going to be a monumental challenge.
On February 5, 2021 Derek and Mike Hernandez (co-driver) put on their race helmets and started the engine ready to begin their 9 hour, 126-mile race through desert and rocks in the Every Man Challenge at King of the Hammers. Watch their journey as they enter the first-ever Toyota Sequoia in the King of the Hammers.
