I find a fun spot to hang the Blackbird hammock (next to a small creek) and make chicken-cilantro tacos! The East Caney Creek Trail is located near Mena, Arkansas.

Thx for replying back, it's truly appreciated. I thought ultralight was too expensive also until I convinced myself to keep learning. Don't let perception block your desire to improve. Thanks again and keep taking us along.

Thanks Kenneth, it just looked big and heavy to me and you're spot on when you say most weight comes from comfort items and there's nothing in the world wrong with that. It's all about being happy. God bless you.

Thanks for taking us along on another nice little trip. (I just can't decide what's more relaxing......the scenery or the narration) 👍👍 Glad you "talked" me into getting the Emberlit stove....I have used it often. Stay Safe.

I'm no expert but I learned to start with the big three, shelter, sleep system, & pack. I use a 13 oz pack ($65), a sun wall that is used on 10x10 canopies as my water proof tarp ($15 & weighs 1.1 lbs), & finally my 2 lb hammock and 1 1/2 lb 40 degree down sleeping bag ($120 for both). You have two of the three so pour a cup of coffee and find you a pack less than 2 lbs & a down bag that stuffs down to not much bigger than your coffee pot. That's the fun part.
@KenClick7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It sounds like you have a great set-up. My pack weights 43 oz, it's a ULA Circuit, so it's not too bad. I could get a smaller/lighter tarp, my Kelty Noah 12 is 2 pounds. My underquilt and topquilt are both down and very light. Most of my weight comes from the extra "comfort" Items I carry.

I use that chicken in a bag all the time for camp meals like chicken salad wraps. I can only find it at Walmart though for some reason. On a side note, is that a Dream Hammock you have? I'm guessing the Darien by the looks of it. Great video my friend.
@KenClick7 жыл бұрын
You are correct about the chicken being from Walmart, but the hammock is a Warbonnet Blackbird. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy camping.

Clickster great vid. quick question does your stove work well in colder temps? It sure seems easier than the emberlit
@KenClick7 жыл бұрын
The Snow Peak works great. It is easier than the Emberlit, but it is not as much fun as building a wood fire. Happy camping.

Hey Kenneth, great videos but I have a question. Ever consider ultralight backpacking? Some of us can't pack a 40 lb pack. Thx

I loved this video! We recently attempted Eagle Rock Loop, it was a bit much for us. We spent more time trying to get through it, instead of enjoying the beautiful views, so decided to gear down a bit. Can you tell me what part of Caney this is and where do you suggest parking? We would love to hike this. Thank you for a great video.
@KenClick2 жыл бұрын
Look up the “East Caney Creek Trail” in the All Trails App. It will give you information and directions to the trail. There is parking at the trail head. Enjoy!
