I am liking a hammock set up in my older age . In summer off the ground from bugs n snakes and a breeze . So I just bought a 10 x10 tarp .

Years ago kevlar was very rare and expensive. Today you can buy (for example) kevlar gloves to protect your arms kinda cheap kinda everywhere. I guess I'll wait the same effect for that cuben-dyneema. Very impressed with it so far via youtube reviews. Waterproof & stretchless & light. But how long to wait...
@AdventureswiththeMarine3 жыл бұрын
I thought by now that it would of dropped at least half the price it is now. I don't know why it is taking so long. Thank you for watching. I really appreciate it.

@@AdventureswiththeMarine thank you for being yourself! Honestly I was locked in oldschool style and had discovered excistence of dyneema-fiber just this year. So it's all new to me now

when it comes to hammock camping. The tarp has the biggest learning curve. But because of that. There are so many ways to hang and pitch your tarp, so you will be able to handle any situation. No matter how severe. Thank you for watching Warren.

I always thought of it as Cuban Fiber. I like the Hex design - just looked them up and found some suppliers - Hennessy being one. End to end that was a well informative video bro. You did well on this one. Thanks for sharing. All the best for the week. Mark
@AdventureswiththeMarine6 жыл бұрын
Even though the name changed. I will more than likely always call it Cuben fiber. Even though you will lose some material for protection. The Hex tarp handles very well in strong wind. Plus they now become lighter to carry. I always enjoy hearing your insights and comments. thank you Bro. Have a great week.

You're a traditionalist bro and why not. Yes, the Hex design looks good. What's the word Ergonomic - built for purpose. A pleasure to watch and comment...

Great info on tarps materials, yet makes me wonder if no one up ther in the North isn't making PC-31 (Icarex) tarps, the material is awesome, ultra light weight and is 100% water/wind proof

@@AdventureswiththeMarine still, my greatest concern if i were to use a tarp (not at all advisable in my area due to bugs and snakes) would be a fire proof material

11:02 isn’t silpoly silicone impregnated polyester fabric rather than PU coated nylon?

Yes. You are correct. Silpoly is polyester fabric impregnated with silicone. Thank you for catching that ricecowboy.

I see a lot of people in this kind of videos setting their hammocks real loose, almost U shape. I make mine pretty much a straight line when I'm not in it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but if I set it as loose as it is here, it will be more like sitting than like laying down.
@AdventureswiththeMarine3 жыл бұрын
That is a great question kke. Would it be alright with you to us your question in a Q&A video. This way you would have a visual of how I answer it.
