Keith Emerson played an L100. Matthew Fisher of PH definitely played the M100 series. Booker T alternated between M3, B3, A100 and C3.

This is my Hammond's Twin!!! I finally got it running today,... 10 hours logged working on it,... gonna need many more to get it fully ready for regular use in my studio.

Hi, for this video I used the rotary speaker presets on Amplitube. Great plugin because it does Leslie simulation but also other amps like like fenders twins, marshals etc so you can get Jon Lord sounds out of it.

I have a Hammond L-102 but I don’t have a Leslie speaker yet. That’s my next project, finding the right type of Leslie to go with my organ. Wish me luck.

Great demo Jack. I had a 50's M102 with Leslie, straight internal speakers (for the pedal and split lower keyboard base outputs) and line out, etc., much modified by the greats - Bevis, and Graham Sutton - regret selling it 5yrs ago, price has quadrupled ! and a B3 for £1500 - now they are nearly impossible to find for less than about £18000! what a fool I was - contented With a Key B duo - clone of B3. fun but not the same with 'false' leslie effect' but through a 60w mono 2 channel bass speaker. plus side - can move it all alone!.

Great organ! but it's a hammond M101, the same that I have! green onions was recorded on a M3 and Keith Emerson used a L122 model... What kind of leslie speaker simulator do you use? Anyway, great video!!! My M101 is chopped! Bye, Antonio

Also,... Serial number 1 of the M-100 series was manufactured in 1961. the last digit refers to the cabinet style is all. It's still a M-100. It's like Volvo,... 240, 244, 242, 245. They're all 240's the specific number just refers to the chassis style.

The L model was Emerson's stunt organ that he would toss about the stage and stick knives in. His main instrument was a C-3.

HI Yoghurtacid... I need help, I also have a HAM. M100 I do the line out classic , from the speakers wires , with a resist. 10 watt 8ohm and one little of 1K.... problem is I have a really dirty output full of noises in background and not much organ sound... what can i take (schematic) for do a output right for connect in a PC audio hardware ? like your example...that you use IK amplitube for leslie/ampli simulator and recording... THANKS

The fix is as close as your neighborhood Walmart. In the automotive section you'll find a $15 or so "line controller" the car audio guys use to connect those high-powered back-seat subwoofers. Produces a surprisingly clean, line-leveled signal. To disconnect the internal speaker you'll need an 8 Ohm 100W Non-Inductive Dummy Load Resistor to avoid melting down the amp.

Hello Yoghurtacid, your 1/4 Line out sounds amazing! I got a M100 wich i need to do it so as well. Can you show/send me the schematics and tip for this line out?

Hi Alekz, unfortunatly i don't have this organ anymore so i can't take pictures myself, but all i did was follow the steps on this webpage: www.dairiki.org/HammondWiki/GettingALineOutFromThePhonoJack It's a very simple mod and work great. You'll see some comments on the webpage saying to add a resistor, but i found that unnecessary. As you can hear it's well worth doing, the internal speakers on these organs are the only bad thing in my opinion.

Hi do know if Hammond was the only company that used the tonewheel? Can't seem to find any other companies. The Hammonds are so expensive. Thx
@mcdude01923 жыл бұрын
Yes hammonds were the only tonewheel organs. It was a completely original approach
@TheLandlordPicker3 жыл бұрын
B D Thanks, yes that's what I've been finding from my research. Although I'm surprised someone else didn't make something similar. I have seen the rotating leslie speaker in multiple organs although I also found out that that wasn't a Hammond original idea. Have a good one.

These organs are cheap, plentiful, heavy and worth every effort. Honestly - what a beautiful piece of machinery, I love my M101 like family.

Hammond organs like this are not expensive at all atm. Another brand that I know of is Pari, later Pari.e, from Italy. The most interesting tonewheel Organ they produced was The New K-61 There are more but those are not tonewheel organs.
