Guitar players putting their guitar through a Leslie? Well.... ok I suppose, if they really have to. Putting their cup of coffee and cheese sandwich on top of it as well? Now that's really crossing the line. You gotta have boundaries. 🤣 Really interesting video. The effect is there but it's really subtle with the guitar. Nice one. 👍👍

Awesome video! My 1969 Leslie 122 has an inbuilt preamp on the back so I can plug my guitar directly into it. Fast Leslie guitar is heard on lots of famous recordings, but SLOW Leslie guitar is much more subtle and adds a nice shimmer which is difficult to identify unless you know what it is

On the song "Sunburn", Carl Bell used a Leslie effect on his guitar throughout. Really beautiful on picked notes. If you are going to use a real Leslie on guitar, I suggest a different microphone than what Nick used in this video. A 57 or 58 would give a more pronounced effect. Also, leaving the back on and setting the mic on one of the side tone-holes helps. Thanks for the vid, Nick. Good job.

This is a cool one. Loads of great Hammond content of course but I want to get the guitarists point of view too; what do they think of Leslie amplifiers? Have they been overlooking them for years now?

Nope. Not overlooked at all. Leslies have been used with guitar for decades. The Beatles, The Stones, Clapton, Hendrix, Soundgarden, to name a few.

You can get a combo preamp for some of them.
