Hammond Organ Percussion licks and settings explained

This week we are going to the very right of the Hammond C3 to look at the mysterious percussion settings. Four white rocker tabs that change the tone and attack of the organ sound. Nick doesn't know why they decided to make this feature but he is very grateful that they did.
Also in this episode we get stationary with a marshall guitar cab and listen how the percussion adds to classic Deep Purple riffs and tunes.

Nick - Another very informative video on the workings of the Hammond organ! Keep up the good work! Since you asked, I do have a Leslie question for you. I have a Model 47 single speed Leslie from the late 50s or early 60s which I have owned for 50 years. I have modified it by replacing the upper driver, installed a customized cross-over and have also installed a Hamptone speed control that makes the motors act like they are 2-speed instead of single speed. I'm sure you've heard of the Hamptone speed control, or some similar device. One thing I have noticed is that both the upper rotor (horn) and the lower (bass) rotor spin in the same direction. Aren't the upper rotor and lower rotor supposed to spin in opposite directions? And does it matter? Is there a way to make the rotors spin in opposite directions, if it makes a difference, that is. If you have any insight, Nick, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

You’re right, they are supposed to spin in opposite directions although I though that this was mainly to stop it walking over the stage like a loose washing machine. I can’t see the tone being effect by this at least through a pa?
