With some of the most spectacular 360 degree views in the area and a 350 million year old limestone pavement it's not really very surprising why I love this place so much!
Hampsfell in Grange-over-Sands is my regular stomping ground, being just a 5 minute walk from my front door. It was nice not having to drive and being able to wear a light bag for a change. Obviously young Finn joined me on this one and she had a wonderful time on this very windy day - despite almost being killed by a sheep!
We walked up to the Hampsfell Hospice which is a nice little stone shelter built by the vicar at Cartmel Priory in 1846. As I mentioned in the video this is where I bumped into Will Holligan ( / will.holligan ) during last year's 'Beast from the East' storm.
Full disclosure: due to the very high winds on this day I wasn't able to fly the drone but fortunately I had some archive footage from previous walks - phew!

You certainly walked much faster past that horse. They don't scare Finn, oh no...They go after me too. 😵‍💫 Love the silver light over Morecambe Bay. A really lovely walk/run.

Went up Hampsfell this weekend whilst camping near Grange/Cartmel following on from me watching your Vlog. Glad I did, what a fantastic little hill with cracking all round views. Loved the hospice on top too. Cheers!

Ha ha- “hullo scary friendly horse”! Laughed out loud a couple of times watching today. Love watching your videos. With two small lads I can’t get out on the fells as much as I would like right now, but I’m living vicariously via your videos and making a list to tick off when I can get out for some more adventurous walks. Plus your photos are immense. 👏

Ah, thank you so much, that means a heck of a lot 😊🙏 Hopefully you can get them out into the hills soon - it's the best playground 🙌 and horses are as scary as hell! 🐴😱😂

Thanks, Glenn, for making this fabulous film of such a wonderful place. It has a special place in our hearts. Absolutely love the 360 view from the Hospice. You know the captions/subtitles translation of Harter Fell into “Heart of Hell”? Well, at 1 min 33 when you said “Morecambe Bay” that translated to “More Canned Beer”. As residents of Heysham, and lovers of ale, we thought this was a lovely, funny and very appropriate “malfunction”. 😂😂😂😂. PLEASE keep making these films. We love the content, your delivery, sense of humour, factoids, gorgeous Finn, and the SPECTACULAR drone footage…. By far the best, and most inspiring Lakeland vlogs on KZbin. Bravo! All the best, Yvette and Mark.

Thank you so much. It's comments like this that make all the work worthwhile! There's another video (How Barrow I think) where the auto subtitles change my words from "I'm going to bomb it along this wall" to "I'm going to vomit along this wall" 😂 I should learn to speak the Queens English!

@@BlackCrag Oh please don’t change a thing! I look forward to many more auto-caption hilarities 😂. I’m going to have to check that one out. Seriously, though, first class quality vlogs. Am gutted that I’m almost through your entire back-catalogue now. Love every minute of them all. Thanks so much. Yvette and Mark

List of fears- 1. Horses 2 Spiders 3. Scary woods 4. Playing footage back at home and seeing 'something' following him. Someone should make a horror film just for you!

I am with you on the 'spider horse' thing! Really made me laugh. And lovely to see someone as tough as you is anxious about spiders! Horses can be very scary too in a much bigger way - tried horse riding lessons to get over my fear a few years ago. Worked well but you have to be careful which end you approach them from. Love your videos - really comforting at the moment. Love Phinn!
