@@GeoffBuysCars I did my best to convince family not to take this jibjab. My sister in-law was in remission for two years. Within weeks of taking the cocktail, she went down with the original cancer, plus lung and liver. She didn't stand a chance. Government blaming it on delays in access to the NHS is utter B.S.

Having owned several of the these over the years. People some fail to realise how fast they actually were and were very good at high speed. They were renowned for bending conrods if too much boost was put through them though. Prices now of the T5R and 850R's are insane remember back in the day buying a 850R for 4k now it'd be 10k plus?

Watching you at 0815 in Vancouver...This was a fascinating chat, the shocker for me is that it was a regular occurrence for Steve to be doing 140 plus mph in all weathers...yikes. I own an 04 T5 XC70 AWD, 185,000 km. Adore the thing, it has its moments. Finally subscribed to your channel as it was slowly drawing me in, but this bit nailed it. Talking to an EX copper who flew these things around...actually one of the only persons in the world who can make a car do what it was made for, till it broke, but they didn't..holeee merd. I've lived in Canada now since 1978, have had 4 Volvos, and some BMW's, but Volvos are life....Wagons, as we call them here...for longer...Love your content....

I can identify with a lot of this topic as i served as a Traffic Cop with the NZ Ministry of Transport for several years back in the 1960s. On Car Jam Rego ID Google, this vehicle is still owned privately in NZ and still has the original black and white livery. I would love to find the present owner so i can swap stories about that car. Cool video. I used to think volvos were a bit boring, but they were very well engineered and the 850/T5 is definitely a very cool car. A mate bought a 760 once for £1, (1990s) that actually worked perfectly too, but he used it as a boat launch so it didn't last. Nice leather though, and always started. He used to run over the top of the car when unhooking the boat - people watched in horror as the paint was good too :D

The random jumping to different incidents really used to annoy me with Traffic Cops back in the day. That’s why my favourite episode from the Hampshire series is the one with the crash between the Mazda MX-5 and the BMW X5 in Fareham (which Steve actually attended to). It flowed better because while it showed two different events, they actually did take place on the same night. They don’t seem to be as bad for it now. Most of the time they dedicate different parts to different incidents.
