I actually really like the A45, it’s a nice nice looking car, even as an Audi RS owner, the only thing i don’t like is, that it doesn’t feel special, the Audi RS has a special engine and exists because of the original Quattro, not because it was competing in a hatch back war

Can’t tune these that well, also very heavy, RS3 pre fl if it was a choice between the 2. RS3 also sounds considerably better, but would say the A45 handles better. FL RS3 handling wise is how we even better 😎

I'll be honest, I'm sure they're fantastic cars, not personally for me but each to their own. I think it's between the RS3 and Megane for me personally, I think I'd end up having the Megane because it has that character, looking forward to seeing what you end up with!

Gearbox isn't dropping quick enough because its not above 50°C, if you put the dash screen into AMG rather than the Mileage counter you'd see the car probably wasn't actually warm enough. Potentially.

Mate, great channel. I have to ask without being rude, what would your insurance be for something like an A45, if you don't mind me asking. You look so young buddy. Just to put it into perspective, I'm an old git, early 50's, Hastings wanted over a grand for a year for me. And that's with years of no claims and high performance driving experience. Might have more power than the RS3 but I think the RS3 has several characteristics that would easily persuade me to go it. 5 cylinder sound is amazing, dsg gearbox is so much better. Interior is better imo especially if we are talking about the new ones. Loads more tuning potential and huge aftermarket for it. This AMG A45 is a little dated. But don’t get me wrong it still is a nice car.

Very nice cars but the interior is feeling its age and they are setup to understeer almost as much as the godawful RS3. The dimwitted automatic gearbox would be a deal breaker for me.

You didnt enable 100ms mode... In either Sport+ or Race. Start Stop Off. Go into the Trip computer and turn ESP off. All in that order

People think the A45 is a beast, but its not really. The 4WD system really saps alot of the engines power. I have a mate who has an early A45, and i have a A220d AMG line with Brabus S2 tuning pack. Flatout on a dual carridgeway there is not much between us. He wins by a small margin every time, but im only about 2 car lengths behind. In the 2.2 Diesel version that will do 70mpg in Eco mode. And yes it sounds like a bag of tools being thrown down the stairs.

Sorry nothing I've seen so far is worth trading the R in for. Amg doesn't look as good and the interior is covered in that carbon effect material. Rs3 just doesn't seem worth the extra cost and definitely not in that colour. Megane would be a step backwards in drive,looks and quality. Best of luck on the search

Edit: m140i is the only real choice. Can't even get one in the USA. Rwd, manual, inline 6 with massive power potential. What's to think about.
