Hampta Pass Trek | Episode 4 | Chandrataal Lake in Spiti Valley | Trek The Himalayas | 2021 Vlogs

This is my amazing experience to one to the most beautiful monsoon treks in India - The Hampta Pass Trek.
At 14,100 feet, Hampta Pass in Himachal Pradesh falls under those rare, dramatic pass crossings in the Himalayas. On one side is the lush green valley of Kullu - with forests, grasslands, and flowers blooming on the side of your trail. On the other is the almost arid, stark landscape of Lahaul, with barren mountains and almost no vegetation.
Standing on the top of the pass, what’s ahead and behind are two different worlds. It changes in a matter of minutes.
Simply put, the Hampta Pass is Himachal’s Valley of Flowers. The landscape is strikingly similar to that of Valley of Flowers - a green narrow valley protected by snow-covered mountains - but there’s an added bonus here.
When you get onto the other side of the Hampta Pass, you’ll be in awe looking at the stark contrast from what you just left behind. The landscape that stretches in front of you is Spiti Valley, known for its barren stretches, rugged terrain and forget-me-not blue skies.
What makes the dramatic changes heightened, even more, is how thrilling the climb to Hampta Pass is. For trekkers, crossing the Hampta Pass (even without the scenery changes) is a great story of adventure. They will love the nervous excitement of climbing to the pass over many ledges, almost appearing to get to the pass, but never really sure until you get there.

This vlog was a revisit to Hampta pass. I enjoyed all the episodes. All days beautifully covered. We did this during mid july 2019, but it was completely different as we walked on snow all the way from balu ka gera to sheagoru. This was due to record snowfall during 2019. We missed the greenery and flowers . The exposed boulders made your trek more difficult on the summit day. Moreover we didn't get the thrill of crossing river on the last day as we walked over the frozen river.

Ohh snap! so basically you couldn't enjoy the monsoon trek for what it is known for! Although even we would have loved to get a bit clear sky on the summit day to see the beautiful surrounding peaks, but nevermind, we still had an amazing experience. I think you should go for the trek once again to see it in its prime beautiful in the monsoon season.

See bro, it will be tiring and very exhausting. But the experience, the happiness, the sense of accomplishment you get after reaching the pass is beyond imagination. You will feel so good when you complete the trek. I would not say I suffered a lot, but yes the trek was tiring, but at the same it was very beautiful.

Thanks a lot brother 😊 So, I use GoPro Hero 9 for all my vlogs. I think it's quite handy and easy to shoot. And I shot everything on Flat profile, so I use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing and colour grading. :)

Just completed watching all the episodes. I am planning to visit this June. Just a doubt, if we need to carry waterproof hiking shoe or normal running shoe is enough.

Waterproof hiking shoes are preferable because you'll be crossing multiple streams and couple of rivers too, so normal shoes will get get and keep your feet soggy, while hiking shoes wont get wet easily

Yes, I think it would be enough. Concentrate more on your quick dry clothes. Don't carry too much as well. Also, around first week of June, you might not get much rain throughout the trek.

I highly doubt that any trekking organization would be operating the Hampta Pass trek in December. Because post October the snow starts, and the campsites on the trek receive too much snowfall, so the trek is completely shut after October till May. I suggest you do this trek in August or by September

Among the two treks I did last year, I feel that Trek The Himalayas was better in terms of facilities. But Invincible was better in terms of the price. So if you can manage in decent facilities and want the price to be low, go for Invincible NGO, otherwise for better facilities and a bit more price, you can go for TTH.

Hello. So, none of the people in the group faced AMS. But there were many people who just could not do the climb and had to be taken back to Manali. So, make sure you go for the trek with proper fitness and health.

There are 2 washroom tents at each campsite, both being compositing toilets.

This would be there for the entire trek duration, on the first day morning you'll start from Manali, so not an issue on that day. Rest of the 4 days you'll have to use the toilets at the campsite
