This is a sad display…this is why HBCU schools are failing. It is sad to be known just as a means to dance and shake rather than to be held to a higher standard. After 60 years of shucking and jiving, it is high time to make a difference for black people. Theses young and not so young people direct a lot of energy exhibiting this outlandish behavior which is displayed all around the world. Collectively, an education from most HBCU schools are deemed worthless. Let’s find another way to excite the masses rather than a lot of twerking and gyrations.

@@derekanderson5199 I think you can find balance in both. Dance/music are indeed part of the culture, but it does not solely define us. Many of these sisters I am sure are bankers, lawyers, doctors, accountants, etc. I graduated from an HBCU and a PWI. The PWI's have their own versions of "expressing" themselves whether it be frat parties, excessive partying/drinking, barn fires, tailgating, etc.

Most of these HBCU dance Iines have abandoned their traditions. You have to wait until homecoming to see what really went down at these schools back in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

I’m a graduate of Norfolk State University and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. It was absolutely wonderful to see these ladies of a fellow HBCU and Greek Sisters rock it out. I felt every march step and kick. Educated & Sophisticated with sassy moves. I love it.
