Thank you for the superb directions & for developing some of my favorite software ever, like this & WinAmp. I'm still missing some of these settings. Getting there... Some more items related to FT-8 success. First hurdle was realizing that FT-8 was always USB-D on ALL bands. Remembering to unplug the Mic. Finding a good logger, i.e. Log4OM. Got FLRig behaving with the newest version. Now using WSJT-X Improved. Windows 10 advanced app sound settings. '73!

The way I understand it, a technician class operator can use FT8 on 10m as this is considered data? Or is data and digital different? Time to upgrade to General regardless...

Great video. When you work contacts, I see your LOG QSO Popup, and then when you click OK, I hear the "ping-coin" confirmation. I used to get this too, but have lost that feature. I think it has something to do with my audio device selection. Could yu comment with how you have the Audio tab of Gridtracker set? Thanks! John, WA9ALS

Its funny watching these videos when you want to get an idea where to start some things. You start off the main topic of discussion after you backed up and described how to update using as sd card. For old dudes like my self, we kind of need that other part also > lol

Tag didn't event touch on running multiple instances of WSJT-X so you can work multiple bands as once using a Flex Signature Series radio. When you're working multiple bands and modes at once GridTracker really shines.

reference the conversation i was speaking with a delaware ham via the chat function on jt alert and he did say there is not a lot of hams in delarare, luckily i got them in the log for my mixed WASb , the hardest one to confirm was a "big gun contester" who took 4 weeks to upload his logs to lotw, so when i download into qrz 4 weeks later i get the qrz mixed WAS, i already got the 50 states within lotw, just a quick question regards the grid mapper is there a max amount of calls that can be downloaded from lotw into it ???, interesting video so far , (1 hr 27 mins in) keep it up my man, 73's de kevin

Hey Josh! The old GridTracker has been through many changes since this vid. Heck there is a manual in the works now, with a bunch of new features added to the software. Time for a 'new and improved' cast? Just sayn', I'd like to see one if ya can get Tags to do it. :)

I have one, do not have the capacity to use it, do not feel that I should have to pay for being able to use it. I have it for 3 years and have not used/been able to communicate or use it; love the capabilities of this wonderful unit; have not been able to use it; it is placed in a comfortable place and not used . Bought extra standby batteries and ‘ needed equipment ‘ and have not been able to use it. Post helpful information.

Part 90 business license. Multi-step process. Not cheap. Was called Private Land Mobile Radio before. Now is called Industrial/Business Radio Pool (the new Subpart C of Part 90, Title 47 CFR).

Hey Josh, would a EMP take out ways to communicate via ham radio? And if not on you explain here or in a live video how that would work out. Say a Solar emp or a military emp. Would love to learn how this all works in those scenarios.

This video might be a little old, the exclamation point to start up doesn't exist, and WSJT doesn't automatically start like this. At least not for me. Trying to load on a Mac and a PC and I think I am missing something. I search for wsjt knowing it's a different file but the computer comes up with nothing. Im not real tech savvy, but im willing to keep at it. Its a great program

You wanna blow your mind?, set up a VM machine or work station on your home network with the WSJTX running and whatever logging software, for me this is N3FJP, I also use JTAlert I have this forwarding the packets to my laptops IP address, I connect to my home network using a VPN and I always get the same IP address based on my mac address, now you have a remote control with all the bells and whistles. ;) 73's
