When you have a mobile radio whose power lead terminates at a lighter plug what do you do for home use? Can you just cut off the lighter plug and connect the wires straight to a decent 240ac to 13.8vdc power supply's red and black connectors? I assume you can? Many thanks for any advice!

Very FTM-300ish looking. Seems like a good alternative for people who are just starting out in amateur radio, and dont want to invest a lot of money just in case this hobby isnt for them. How well is the manual written? I hope its durable, cant imagine how many hoops you have to jump through for warranty claims. Thanks for sharing. 73. KC3UEE
