It might not have answered the question to HIS satisfaction, but I love that answer. We often talk about the scientific miracles, historical truths, miracles, numerology, things that couldn’t have been known, etc. but the EFFECT of the Quran is too often understated. To add, it also birthed centuries of great scientific achievements, advancements in social services, curiosity about the natural world, great people, excellence, etc etc etc because people wanted to understand more about Allah’s creation, wanted to build community services to serve people and please Allah, logical thinking, great books, and many other things that influenced the whole world and led us to point we’re at today. It brought about centuries of excellence, it was a true awakening for mankind and it emerged from an area that had known nothing but warring bedouin tribes for centuries. It was a true mercy, blessing, and revival for mankind, Alhamdulillah. I could write a book about how it influenced the world and it’ll still be drastically understated. Maybe I should actually. P.S. Christianity didn’t influence the world in nearly the same way, and Christianity was heavily influenced by Islam after the emergence and rapid expansion of Islam. You could argue that the birth of the United States of America or even the industrial revolution are nearer competitors, but I don’t believe either would’ve happened without Islam. Islam had a huge influence on Europe and the rest of the world. The effects of Islam are a HUGE MIRACLE.

What is more believable : 1) Orphan shepherd in the middle of nowhere who couldn’t read and write suddenly at age 40 and in just short period of 23 years all by himself fashions over night an entire global world dominating civilization, establishes a new philosophy of human thought, action and behavior, revolutionizes every aspect of society and somehow manages to create the greatest book in history of human race while at the same time being an excellent and unmatched political visionary, statesman, administrator, diplomat, warrior, general, commander, social and moral reformer, lawgiver, judge, public speaker, religious preacher, devoted husband, loyal companion, loving father and faithful friend. 2) Divine intervention. Answer is obviously 2.

It’s not about what’s believable it’s about what’s true. A child might not believe in gravity or it’s affects but it exists and is true. If you explain electromagnetism to a child they may not believe you but doesn’t change that it’s real and true. You might not be able to convince food science to an average person but it doesn’t change that it’s true. There are many things in our life that may not be believable but it’s true. Like people who have survived being hit by lighting, surviving dangerous accidents, etc and the reverse where a small trip leave someone paralyzed.

In a monotheistic religion, why do you need to kiss a stone, and the stone is supposed to come to life at the day of judgement and intercede on your behalf. It was originally white, but sins of the descendants of Adam made it black. (Tirmidhi 877, Mishkat al-Masabih 2577) Touching The Black Stone is a means by which Allah ﷻ forgives our sins like prayer or any other act of worship or a good deed like charity, salah, etc. (Tirmidhi 959, Nasai 2919)

Just like when you do ablution (wudu) and your sins get forgiven for doing ablution. Who forgives your sins? Water? No. Water is useless by itself. It’s Allah who forgives your sins after you do what He commanded you to do - which is ablution. Allah said to follow and emulate the Prophet ‎ﷺ > Prophet ‎ﷺ kissed the Black Stone, thus establishing the Sunnah action > So do we kiss the stone as a Sunnah act because the Prophet ‎ﷺ did it > And after we touch the stone Allah forgives our sins for fulfilling the Sunnah of the Prophet ‎ﷺ.

That’s not counting that a lot of people read whole chapters every day outside of prayers, a huge number of people play Quran recitations in their homes even when they’re not actively reading it, they listen to it. Do the math. Numbers are staggering. 
It is the most read, memorized and listened book in the world. No other book has stronger grip over people’s hearts and minds than the Quran. No other book has that kind of influence over that many number of people. This is why Quran is objectively and undeniably the greatest book ever.

I can understand why he wasn't satisfied with brother Subboor's answer. The impact of Islam was indeed miraculous, but only if you look at the details of it, that it started with a single man in a pagan society that fiercely fought against his message and persecuted him for it. Someone who looks at the impact alone can just say that liberalism also had a big impact, does that mean it's from God? Of course not, liberalism was something Europeans needed to turn to after they suffered from how the kings weaponized Christianity and used the church to keep them under control, so it was easily accepted escape the injustice Christianity was used to justify.

A good interfaith discussion. It's a shame AJ wasn't more clued up on Islam and The Qur'an; his basic knowledge and shortcomings on the subject let him down here. Still, he was civilly and respectfully dealt with, as always, which is a credit to his Islamic interlocutors. On the question of why did Luke and Matthew use 70% of Mark's Gospel to compose their own? Well, Mark was the scribe of Peter. who was Jesus's chief/head disciple and would have walked shoulder to shoulder with Peter, so if they're going to go to anybody for verification of what their writing, it makes sense to use Mark, as Peter was an illiterate fisherman who wasn't able to write himself - much the same as Muhammad. Thanks for uploading and looking forward to similar discourses in the future.

If that single book had the same sociological impact of the Quran; *_as of today_* that single book would have only just been completed since it was authored _piecemeal primarily by word of mouth_ but would have already united the UK with Ireland and France, completely abolishing the previous religions from its monarchy & government, JK Rowling having ruled as their witch queen for the past 2 years, her followers believe themselves as wizards, and they are primed to conquer the rest of Europe entirely by 2036 and build one of the largest, prosperous, & most advancing empires for the next 600 years. Also, the book set a new unchallenged standard for the English language moving forward and JK Rowling was illiterate. And people compare the Quran to Shakespeare?

There are facts in the Qur’an that actually happened like .. Ar-Rūm (30) The Byzantines have been defeated (2) In the nearest land.But they, after their defeat, will overcome (3) Within three to nine years. To Allāh belongs the command [i.e., decree] before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice (4) … How could the Qur’an know that the Byzantines would be defeated within a few years?! Did you know that at the time this verse was revealed, the Muslims were weak and were hoping for the victory of the Byzantines over the Persians (because the Byzantines were Christians and close to the Muslims, unlike the Persians who worship fire)

How do you explain at the 33:34 mark the Christian giving credit to Allah for revealing the Quran? What is Surah 33.34? Did Hamza deny Allah wrote the Quran? Does Hamza then deny Isa's (pbuh) miracle of his infant rebuke? Does Hamza deny Isa (pbuh) breathing on mud bringing it to life? Did not Muhammad (pbuh) confirm Isa (pbuh) rose before the eyes of his disciples and sat down at the right hand of Allah? How then would it be hard to turn water into wine? What about the table? The feeding of 5000 would explain why after the table from heaven was sent down Isa (pbuh) said they would be cursed if they disbelieve. If you choose to forgive them, You are the most merciful." (Paraphrased from English interpretation) Defend your LORD and His message first, then defend His Nabi. Focus on Nabi. I wished brother Hamza could be more patient with this person, as I haven't seen AJ acting in any offensive manner that warrants such level of aggressive putdown. He could still be well meaning, just ignorant of the many supplementary facts that the rest of the panel were already appreciative of that supports the introductory arguments that brother Subboor has made. He was not aware of the wonderful intricacies of the Quranic linguistic miracle, of its beauty that stumps even the best Arabic poets of the time, he was not aware of the various practical and sound principles exhorted by the Quran for us to live by that surpasses any secular standards. To him, Quran was just a book, a foreign scripture from an alien culture. I wish he'd be given the opportunity to listen to further elaborations on how exactly Quran is miraculous, instead of being cut off when he expressed his ignorant unimpressedness.

Qur'an is the direct word of God almighty, how can it NOT be a miracle. Firstly. Secondly, the way it changed arabic and how no poet could ever touch it, and yet everyone understood the meanings despite being used in completely unfamiliar ways. Prophecies made, fulfilled ones and yet to be fulfilled ones. Never missed the mark on them and never will, miracle. History. Correcting past mistakes in the Bible, for example who the ruler was during Josephs time. The Bible says it was pharaoh, Qur'an says it was a King, not a pharaoh. Recent discovery shows it was indeed a King, not a pharaoh. Miracle. The prerequisite for something to be a miracle, is that it has to be from God almighty. And since the Qur'an is from God, word for word, directly, then the entire thing is a living Miracle. Anytime you're holding a Qur'an, you're holding a miracle.

Great job gatekeeping the Arena to paying members. I was the guy saving them to "watch later" so I could listen when I drive at work. The Arena goes up on Friday evening EST in America and I like to spend my evenings with my family. I catch maybe 15 min tops on live. You mentioned in other arenas that you dont understand why people dont come on yet you pull moves like this. You JUST had a gofundme set up to cover expenses. I've been following Ef Dawah and you by association for a good 3-4 years now. I can see now why you left. I can also see that I'm now glad I gave EF dwaha my membership over yours. You not only lost a potential member, but you lost a long time subscriber. This is not even adding to the fact that you've turned it into a reality show. You insult guests regularly, your mannerisms have actually gotten worse over these last couple months. You raise your Mic volume to an absurdly high level while other panelists like Yemeni and Sharif have their mics barely audible sometimes. How do you not get that most of your views come in after your livestream? Its like moving backwards. You can still cut up the arena for KZbin shorts and shorter videos. I encourage others to unsub from this channel. Dont give this geezer any more of your time, energy, and money.

Your encouragement has been noted and ignored. The Arena isn't for those looking for adab, it's for those who want to see actual debates, granted it goes into entertainment more often than not but such is life. Many of us find it to be a suitable alternative to self-important mind numbing content flooding the internet. EFDawah do great work, that doesn't mean that the Arena doesn't. If it's not your cup of tea then so be it. And just so we're clear Hamza doesn't go on a spree unless the guests become unreasonable, frankly it's a breath of fresh air to see a brother putting a ponce in his/her place.

You all love the debates, but you can't even debate yourselves. I've followed Hamza and EF Dawah for YEARS. I've watched more content from both channels than most people. I've seen nearly every historicity stream, Perfect Storm, Arena, and Open Forum etc. I've even donated during certain streams. You mistake me for some random guy who only has a problem with Hamza. I'm on the road a lot, and when I'm driving, I watch and listen to all the dawah channels. I also catch up on missed live streams. And let's be honest. No one's watching Hamzas livestreams at the shop. Those are the ones that should be members only since they tend to be a bit more personal. Stop acting like this is something to be taken lightly. It says a lot about you and your ilk when you don't care about adab. I can't stand it when Dawah channels fall off because of egotistical maniacs. This is why I stopped following Daniel Haq, Saajid Lipham, Ali Dawah and others like them. While people like Thought adventure podcast, Farid Responds, Dawah Wise struggle to get views despite their great work. The drop in quality Dawah material can only be blamed by dunces like you.
