I was in the balcony to the left of the stage. I'm ashamed to admit that I had not heard of Hanabie before the show. I'm a huge fan now! They were incredible.

I'm assuming you were there for Jinjer (another greast band). What did you think when you saw these little Japanese ladies come out on stage?
@jacksonthescorp63242 ай бұрын
@@BenC460 I'm an old guy. I grew up on 80's and 90's metal. So honestly, my first thought was they were some sort of gimmick act. Then they started playing and I was stunned. My playlist has been 100% Hanabie since.

Having never heard of this band coming to this show, I was blown away by all of them to say the least. But Chika dude….I did not expect the storm that was gonna come from behind that drum kit when she ran out all smiley and bubbly 🤯

Japan got some really good female drummers. Like Akane of Band-Maid, Haruna - Lovebites (If you haven't heard. check out their live video of Solider Stands Solitarily. Wicked!), Kanade of Koiai, Tamu of Nemophila, Junna who did rise to fame with her drum covers on YT (DragonForce, Metallica etc)... Not to speak of Senri Kawaguchi. She's a fusion-drummer, and does most styles. Sadly mostly Jazz, but great double kick.

I first heard these ladies when the We Love Sweets video came out and have been a huge fan ever since. I remember watching videos of them playing tiny little clubs in Tokyo with an audience of like 30-40 people. It's so cool seeing how they have blown up. They are talented, hard working and have created something unique and all their own. They deserve all the success.

@@BenC460 I heard them when that video came out too! It's cool to see them get bigger. It was fun when we were a small club tho lol

Thank you for the great video. Japanese rock is hot all over the world right now. There are dozens of groups active in addition to Babymetal, Bandmaid, Love Bites, Nemophila, and One OK Rock. Please check them out.
