Nice video! I live on Kauai this was one of my first hikes when I moved here. The ocean on this beach tried to eat me so yes do not swim in this water at this particular beach. It has a severe drop off slope of sand that sucks you in and spits you out just long enough to suck you back down. I agree tho that it’s one of the best hikes on kauai.

Get some tabis! I did this hike in 2012 as a wee lad. Remember it well. Including a stop on the way out where I was barefoot and someone yelled at me. You a local!

Thanks for the detailed video and all the tips! Would you advise against wearing waterproof boots and switching to water shoes/grippy sandals for stream crossings on this trail? I don't own a pair of trail runners (there are no serious hikes in South Florida where I live that require that type of footwear), trying to figure out if I can make do with what I have. Thanks!

We're going in August and have reservations how long did the hike take from Parking lot to falls? And it was a total of 8 miles?
