That is a very dangerous way of digging a well. Back in the day they use to build.wood rings that could be stacked for higher for depth. A digger would stand in the middle of the ring and dig below the edge as the ring drops it creates a retaining wall. Once the desired depth was reached thy lined the well with brick or stone leaving the wood rings behind.

So that's how my great grandpa did it! Still there I imagine, in Missouri. Back in the day, this is how they did it. Dangerous? Sure. But man that's cool!

Is there any type of soil that indicates you are close to finding water underground
@homegrowncountryhomeplace2 жыл бұрын
From what I understand, it would be small rocks or sandy soil where water can travel. It could be a combination of this or other soil type where water can travel or rock. Hope this helps. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

I'll tell you one thing, you dig a nice round hole! I'm interested now in how far you're gonna go. I don't know how my mind went to this while watching the video, but I felt bad for all those guys back in the old days that had to dig graves for people, especially during war times!

the bore hole was 10 feet deep and I backfilled it with a 8 inch pipe in center. Then I have used a percussion method to drill on down. About 75-80 feet right now and no water. Have a Blessed Evening Friend! Justin

@@homegrowncountryhomeplace This is one thing that scares me about my land we purchased we trying to put a shallow well on our properly to have water we dug about 5 ft and seen water we use a drive point and to the ground around 13 ft and no water so now we are digging a whole out deeper with a hand shovel to pull up the drive point it look like it's stuck in rocks bed sand. It's definite a lot of hard work also keep making these awesome videos 🙏❤️
