When I fitted the same guards to my K1600 the instructions were to remove the reverse button housing, fit the guard, then refit the reverse button housing. I think the fitting kit came with slightly longer bolts.

I’m in the process of fitting these on a K1600B. My understanding of the instructions is exactly what @KAS050963 said. Were you able to fit yours? Where do the spacers go? Thanks for any light on this.
