This is a very simple but effective tool you’ve built. This is a lot quicker than some of the other ways I’ve seen people break the bead. 👍🏻
@deesmykla103 жыл бұрын
I've done many a stock car tire that way since they wouldn't fit on a tire machine. My beadbreaker has a curled tip so very little angle is needed and is less likley to damage the bead or sidewall. I couldn't tell if your's was curled at all. After mounting the rear bead I have to get the tube in place with baby powder on it so it slides easier... then carefully get the outside bead on without pinching the tube. I always use waterless handcleaner to lube the bead... Works great...

As young kids back in the 70's growing up in the country .us boys would ride our bicycles up to the gas station and watch the Gas station attendant change tires and we got a kick out of the loud Pop that the tires made when bead sealed ...Fun times .Good Memories

That was a easy one, I used to have one of those cheap tire change machine the bar to change the tire was useless so had to modify it, but had to fight with small tire bar's to get tires on, but now I'm going to make my own one or get another machine if I got the money, as it costs heaps to get a puncture fixed here in New Zealand or tire's swoped , so I might make a breaker like you're's as well 😀👍🏻 thanks

I'm researching this right now. I had planned on starting today, but now I'm stuck on what method to break the tire bead. I know there's floor jack and scissor jack methods that require a bit of creativity, and then there's this that got me thinking about this 6 foot heavy 3/4" steel rod that I have but the end isn't exactly right. I was also thinking maybe a heavy flat iron and a sledge hammer to improvise what you've got there. First time doing this and got the low profile tires. Good video, and the method seems less fuss than the others I've seen.

You can make a pretty good bead breaker out of a old car jack too. I bought a cheap tire changer at H F bent the hell out of it the first tire so I had to add some reinforcement plates to it.

Damn right you saved money Bob!! Just today I took 30 wheels ( cleaning up the yard to move) to my local tire shop to have them taken off of the rims so I can scrap the rims and dispose of the tires.....they charged me $5 bucks each just to dismount them....it took 2 guys about 15 mins to do it....and it was $150 bucks....what a racket tire shops are.
