Hey Jake, as a fellow C5 owner I can truly relate to the things you do to your C5. Sometimes I feel you're too hard on yourself, however. You really do an excellent job with all the things you do to improve on your car. With regard to the slight mismatch on your yellow brake calipers, all I can say is to repeat what a friend once said to me about a similar error I once made: "you can't see it from the boat".

Jake, as another C5 owner you should try the ceramic pads from Akibono, no nasty brake dust and great stopping grip. Love your channel.

Hey Jake, I use "BDP Brake Dust Releaser" on my C6 Corvette wheels. I use a pistol grip spray bottle to apply the BDP then let stay for 60 seconds then hose off. I use a bottle brush that has a long handle and reaches to the back of the deep dish then around the caliper. The brush holds onto a micro fiber cloth like Velcro, so, you can be assured it will not come off while moving it around on the wheel. Finish with a leaf blower and they are back to looking great down to the calipers and those deep dish wheels. Hope this helps you in some way. The product is Acid free, Environmentally safe, use on Chrome, Steel, or Alloy wheels. My wheels are Alloy with a clear coat finish. I love it! Makes cleaning the wheels a cinch.🙂

Ceramic coating the wheels is the long term solution. Once you ceramic coat the paint a few times, everything will just hose off. I'm pretty sure Avalon King would be willing to sponsor you.

Was wondering, would c6 wheels fit if you uses only a 1 inch spacer and then possibly able to run wider tires. I have c6 wheels for my c5, currently running 295 and 275 on my c5 wheels don't really want to go smaller..

Hi Jake! Pretty cool upload man! Hey Brother... If you want to save some elbow grease, the next time, take one cup of white vinegar to a half gallon of water, mix it well and spray it on the wheels before cleaning them. Spray and let them soak for about five minutes before you begin to wipe them down. You'll be amazed at how easy they will come clean... Just food for thought... Thumbs up from me as usual Bro! I'm not understanding the 1.5" spacer situation.. I'm running C6 wheels on mine and all I have is some tiny 3-5mm spacers on the rear. What gives??

Offset of c6 wheels is different than c5 so the larger spacer brings the wheels more flush with the body. At 3-5mm yours are probably set in prettynoticeably

@@Bail_Money no they actually aren't. I'm pretty expert at wheel fitment and would NEVER drive my car looking like that. That's why I don't get the size. Mine are flush. I've put his wheels onto a friends C4 with a 2" rear spacer and they're actually perfect

@@enzofiero2924 if your c6 wheels fit flush on a c5 then you have replicas. Factory backspacing/offset is different c5-c6. C5 offset is 58mm c6 is 79mm which is why people use a spacer on c6 wheels to bring it back out. Only wheels that would not need the spacer to not be sunk in on a c5 would be wheels off a wide body c6 (Z06, Grand Sport, ZR1), which tend to stick out on most c5s

Best overall touch up paint is nail polish. Quick cheap easy and any color you want even clear.

Get black hawk ceramic pads. Use degreaser and let it set then wash then put a ceramic coat to protect and make it easier to clean next time

Also, whatever tire shine you're using is slinging up into your wheel wells/side skirts and staining them. Use a non-silicone based tire shine. 👍

SOS pads. Rust oleum enamel in the can paint brush and if you want clear enamel on the barrel of the wheel

Chemical guys Diablo wheel cleaner. Pre rinse, scrub with your brush, rinse off, done.

Man I love your channel. I have wanted a C5 corvette for forever. I feel the same passion you do for them. I have been looking day and night for a good used corvette that has not been abused. Used car prices have gone way up in the last year. Maybe I will wait for the used market to cool off before I buy one. Question. Does the C5 corvette take regular unleaded.
