I was born with extra thumbs as well, im thinking about getting it removed and im actually 25 year old now . Is it something that can still be done at this age ?

You can, but it may be hard to get good results after this age.

If the hands are fully formed, I mean if the thumb is a well developed finger you shoulndt go for it
