My sisterhad started a quilt and I helped finish it. Didn't know anything about quilting except what my sister has showed me. I'm so thankful she had showed me and I was helping before she had her stroke. I have almost completed the quilt now and thanks to our quilting store, here in town, I've gotten a lot of good advice from them. She started hand stitching and asked me to only do hand stitching. Our quilting store keeps asking why I'm doing it all by hand? They use sewing machines. It's my sister's and this is how she wanted it, is always my answer. She didn't embroidery first, so I have embroidered the babies info and am now working to embroidery her name on it. That will be the last stitching. Afterward it's just the washing before she gives it to her great granddaughter. Definitely a rewarding experience. Thanks for your video. I'm still learning. 🪡

I could watch your hand quilt forever! I learned from you, and now I actually started my own business because I wanted to be like you! I also started a quilting group in my home church of all my friends, and we make hand-sewn and hand quilted applique quilts for people in the church! We are making our last one before I graduate, and I think of how grateful I am to you for making that one video every single day! ❤

How do you decide on the pattern for hand quilting?

Suzy, do you spray baste?

I typically like pin basting best because I think the spray baste is really messy. With this quilt I did opt to spray baste it because I didn’t want to dodge pins when marking my circles.
