Just spent a crazy amount of money for metal stamping supplies this weekend and I am discouraged after doing my first practice runs today. I forgot my bench block so used hubbies trailer hitch. It worked a little too good. The metal bracelet blanks became mis-shaped. The blank was squashed or pushed out where the word was stamped; like a grilled cheese sandwich with cheese oozing out. So I got in the car and drove 30 min to get to my nearest craft store to pick up the right bench block. So I begin to use it and I barely get an imprint. What am I doing wrong? Thank you. 😞

Hi Lisa - You want to make sure that your steel bench block is placed on a hard sturdy surface. Bracelet blanks can bend when stamping if the letters are stamped to close to the edge and/or stamped with too much force. We would be happy to look at any project photos and help troubleshoot.
