You are so good at hand sewing! Making that dress looked quick and easy! It is plain but in a very luxurious way. You let the quest for authenticity, the story, the beautiful wool fabric itself be the heroes of the piece! You look lovely, warm, and very capable wearing it, too.

I love wearing viking style dresses in everyday life. They are super comfortable, easy to sew and you can always decorate them with small beautiful details (buttons, tapes, embroidery etc.). Goog job, Kristine!

This was so interesting to watch! I live in the US but I am of Viking decent and am in the process of learning more about where my ancestors came from. I also find that making my own garments and accessories very enjoyable. Thanks for the knowledge and the visual and audio beauty.

This was the first time I have seen an ancient-style needle being used. I wonder how fine and small they could have been made at the time.
@KristineVike Жыл бұрын
That is the question, isn't it? Judging by their metalwork they could make some really, really detailed stuff, even if we haven't found any really fine needles so far. But if they existed, I imagine they would have been out of reach for most people cost-wise.

Hi I loved the peaceful experience of watching you sew these wonderfully appropriate fabrics - thank you for listing. I loved the dress but also I loved your headpiece and hunted your videos to see if you had youtubed a making of these caps but I could not find one. I then did an internet search trying to find out exactly how they looked/how they were made but I didn't have much success. Do you know of any online resources or can I temp you into making and posting a KZbin video on the subject. Many thanks. Regards, Chris in Australia :)

Fin video.
