I have not caught a live stream yet but am thoroughly enjoying the replays while I crochet. I first saw you on Shannon Makes and found your calm presence a balm for my mind. I am in Florida and hopefully one day I will be able to join you in real time, work permitting. Thank you for creating such a peaceful place to be.

Thank you so much for all the fuss of making that short. 🌟😀👍💖🎉 I admire the skill level you have reached, from all the practice , I imagine In the long video, I had thought it was a sort of felling stitch.
@KristineVike4 күн бұрын
Ooooh, I see. That would work too! I have just learned that I do not mind making shorts out of long form videos when I can just do them silently with text overlay if necessary. 👀
@catherinejustcatherine17784 күн бұрын
@KristineVike I delight in this sort of short: precise & clear example of how to make one particular sort of stitch. I want to do some simple flowers or critters on two almost identical dresses (so I can tell them apart) &, would delight in seeing how you lay down lines & curves & catch them different ways to make the various geometric components of line "drawings"/sketches. Not a tutorial per se, more of a "here's one way to do this & what that finished stitch looks like in a group of similar ones, &/or juxtaposed with others". So, I am grateful for the ones you have done, and hope for others, and enjoy your content either way

Slowly catching up on the videos that I’ve missed. I love that Greensleeves was playing in the background at points. I used to hate that song and think it was so dumb. Then when I started studying medieval history and doing medieval living history and I realized the dumb one was me, it’s such an old song, and now I love it. Kitty cam was awesome and needed and so was the company as I caught up on laundry, putting things away, and cleaning and things that need to be done. You are appreciated.

I really like that the decorative stitch went all along the kofte to hide the button holes. Better than my idea of decorative embroidery stitched separately over each button hole, but it would still be obvious that it used to have buttons. Yours looks like it always had a zipper. I will keep this idea stored for when/if I ever come across a similar situation! And glad to see the previous project is now functioning as it was truly intended to be: the new void bed. 😆

It clearly always had a zipper. As intended. 😁👀
@johannageisel53905 күн бұрын
I had expected you to sew a zipper underneath the button strip so that there is the illusion of a button closure but it's actually a zipper underneath. 😅

That's a good idea to maintain the original size though! Plus it would look fun. This person often complains that standard sizes are too tight in the neck, which was why I opted to widen it slightly by having the plackets not overlap anymore. But I like your idea as well! :)

Yes for bug list video! I always wonder what's going on for people and while it's definitely not fun for you to have them, it will be fun to watch, for sure. Absolutely agree about woodworking. There's so little stuff. And I would like Nifty Knitting update with more jumpers and more socks, the ones in game look quite outdated now, and to be honest it's not even that hard to get inspo for what knitters are making, there's whole big website called Ravelry and there's a section 'hot right now'. I can help them, I already waste too much time on this site 😂

I cut up an old moving blanket into 300+ hexagons for my first QAYG project. I have a dozen of these blankets cluttering my space. I cut 42 fronts, and just cut my first backing hexi to wrap around it all. Now do I want decorative stitching or hidden?

when losing hand mobility there is a tool that one can use to help with bottons when they have to be dealt with. It is called a "knappelukker" or "knaplukker" in danish. Perhaps something like that in norwegian to. But so great that you fixed the problem all together here :o)

Thrift is not always secondhand. We bought a new Estonian sweater in Latvia that was seriously discounted due to a large snag. I pulled it through to the back with a crochet hook (less than 5 minutes) and it was good to go. Never travel without some tools!

I’m all about the kitty cam, as always. I am so happy to see your finished bag and what a beautiful gift. I also am so particular about who I give a hand made gift to, because it has to be someone who understands the amount of time it takes to make something. I love receiving hand made gifts for the same reason, I know they’ll last forever and are a true work of love. Your recipient will think of you every time it’s used, which is so wonderful.

A lovely, gentle reminder that not all 'thrift flips' ( I hate that term), need to be difficult or time consuming.

I am not too familiar with the phrase, but it seemed fitting? Titles are difficult. 😅
@Su-ri5ob6 күн бұрын
@@KristineVike - oh, sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was criticising! I dislike the 'thrift flip' term as it it's something that people have done forever just with a trendy new name, however, I do appreciate that a) titles must be difficult b) it's probably only me that has issues and c) it's a widely accepted and known phrase.

Having clothes that fit me is exactly why I am trying to learn how to sew. So far, it has mostly lead to to a great deal of frustration, but I am learning more, bit by bit. It makes me happy to see clothing be made to fit a person's needs, and bring new life to a garment at the same time. The zipper toggle being easy to grab brought back a happy memory of one of my more successful projects for another person. They have difficulty with mobility and fine motor control, and they needed a small bag with a zipper. I made one for them using a really nice zipper with a big, round, easy to grab toggle that I seam-ripped off of an otherwise broken lunch bag that we happened to have. And it was perfect for them!
