Hand stitching leather to the wooden spar of a traditional yacht

nice video, I'm curious how you finished it off at the very end. I know you did 3 thumb knots when you ran out of thread in the middle. I had watched another video that finished with a square knot but that proved ineffective for me.

Thanks for your comment. I made a double stitch through the end two holes and tied off the ends of the thread. I then drew the ends back along the seam before cutting, so that the knot is tucked away from chafe. Time will tell how durable the stitches will be- so far so good and the leather will need to be removed eventually for revarnishing
