This weekend I had a great opportunity to make this beautiful pencil box from several pieces of wood and decorate it with inlay Khatam tape. this beautiful art of several thousand years. whit only hand tools

I would have uses some magnets to keep sliding portion in place to prevent accidental pick up mistakes.

I too am interested in buying some of the Khatam tape veneer. I see that you procure it in Iran, I live in usa so I doubt I would be able to purchase any from you directly. Is there a specific name for it that I can look into buying online? Sadly, I have looked around for 45 minutes or longer without finding anything. This stuff is absolutely beautiful, and I would like to thank you for your video. I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your work. I really would appreciate more info on it.

Hello Thank you for your encouragement. Khatam is a handicraft product, the process of making it is very complicated and time-consuming, and therefore it is not sold on the Internet other than finished products. I also do not have access to Iran because I am a refugee in Turkey and I hardly buy it from Iran. If you need a large quantity of Khatam, I can order it for you, but it will take some time to prepare. But if you want a small amount, I can deliver it to you. Yes you are right . Unfortunately, I don't have enough tools to do it completely by hand. I hope I can do better in the future. It's not because i can't do it, it's because i don't have the right tools. Thank you for your opinion

thank you my friend. These veneers (Khatam) are one of the oldest handicrafts in history, which are made with copper metal, bone and colored wood, and this type is only made in Iran and has a very laborious and difficult process.

Thank you very much my friend. Khatam is one of the oldest crafts in history and is made with materials such as copper metal, bone and colored wood. And the best type that you see in the video is made only in Iran. Although other countries also produce Khatam, but none of them have the same quality as Iran's Khatam. This veneer is *Khatam* which is made with copper metal, cow and camel bones and wood. Khatam is one of the oldest crafts in Iran

All hand tools? The real skill is the veneer. Not the super simple wooden box. Unfortunate that there is no mention of the incredible art of Iranian marquetry that goes into making the veneer and the materials used in making it. Disappointing that You Tube clips are made in this way. Would have been much more respectable if you had mentioned that and given credit where credit is due.

don't be a jerk, the pencil case is simple but lovely, and a veneer is made in order to be used to cover something else, by it self it may look nice but it's useless. This person here made a clean job and didn't speak during the whole video. Stop being offended by everything.
