മസ്തിഷ്ക മരണം സംഭവിച്ച ഒരാളുടെ കൈകൾ മാത്രമേ മറ്റൊരാളിൽ മാറ്റിവെയ്ക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയുള്ളൂ. കൈ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടവർക്ക് വേണമെങ്കിൽ മെഷീൻ കൈകൾ വെച്ചു പിടിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിലും ഇത്തരം കൈകളുടെ പ്രവർത്തനം അത്ര സുഗമമായിരിക്കില്ല.

The first successful hand transplantation in India was performed at Amrita Hospital, Kochi in 2015. It was a historic moment in the field of surgery. After this historic achievement, 7 more patients underwent hand transplantation surgery at Amrita Hospital, Kochi.
Only the hands of a brain dead person can be used for transplantation. If needed, machine hands can be attached to those persons who have lost a hand, but the functioning of such hands will not be smooth. Touching water using a machine hand often involves limitations. Therefore, attaching hands obtained from brain dead person can only serve normal hand functions.
