I dont even need anything but the enthusiasm you share is contagious. I had to go on the website. A true influencer! LOL. They have an "almost perfect" section too which is cool! They also do leather jackets etc. The messenger bag is very nice. I might have to get a toiletry bag. They're based in Portland but the factory is in Mexico, I like that they seem to be transparent about their practices. Mexican artisans are so wonderful, a lot of high quality beautiful pieces come out of Mexico. Your mystery box today was just perfect for you!!!

They do seem to be transparent. Most items ship from their warehouse in Texas. The messenger bag was just released yesterday and the jackets were released last week. They're releasing a crescent shaped bag next week.

After seeing your first vlog on Portland Leather, I purchased the Almost Perfect Mini-Crossbody in black. The imperfection was in the strap but I liked the difference in the pebble leather and smooth leather of the strap. Augh! LOVE PLG!! I bought a small bag and a few SLGs during Black Friday last year and was really pleased with everything. Even the items that were deemed somehow defective. They won hundred percent deserve all the hype they receive with their products. For such a portability, we will need item from bags down to SLGs, doesn’t matter. I ordered and especially love my travel Dopp kit. I use it now daily even in my everyday work totes.

I’m glad you like the brand. For a different viewpoint, I bought some things from PLG a few years ago and I was not happy with the items, they were just not my style. However, they did not have a returns process that offered a return shipping label, and it cost me almost $50 to return the items to them. I will never order from them again because of that and buyer beware!

I guess they've updated their return methods because I'm returning a few other things I ordered and it cost about $10 shipping and I was able to print return labels. I know they've had some growing pains. Hopefully they're learning lessons from them.

Yes. I haven't ordering anything online for quite some time because they used to ship everything from Portland and I would get things in 1-2 days priority mail. Now they moved their warehouse to Texas and using an outside distributor and it can take two weeks sometimes. I had things sit for a week before it even left the warehouse.

I hate to say this, but I think they sent you a particularly good mystery box because you’re an affiliate. I got sucked in and got several mystery boxes with them and they always include atleast 2 very low value little items, like tiny tassels and little triangle coin purses. The nicest small item I ever got was one of those Ariana pouches. I’ve never received anything close to as nice as that journal. I would be over the moon to get a mystery box like that nice also never gotten a zipper on my totes 😕 And many items had visible flaws. I do have to admit that the mystery boxes are very fun and very tempting to buy.

I don't think they sent me a special box. I ordered another mystery box (3+8 mini crossbody) on my own before I was an affiliate and the items were just as good. I've also seen lots of mystery box unboxings and there have been really good ones. I have another mystery box on the way that I purchased (3+8 medium crossbody) so we'll see how that one goes.

Lots and lots of pink items and low value small goods. I love the color of your first mystery bag. And I guess if I liked pink I would have been thrilled with what I got. lI found PLG earlier this year through a friend, and ended up meeting up with her at the outlet. (I'm just north of Portland.) You are so not kidding about the rabbit hole/addictiveness. I went from no PLG bags to four in about as many months, and a fifth that I'm eyeballing pretty hard. (The large totes, btw...fantastic. I could keep a small family in one of those things. But the medium crossbody is quite possibly dipped in happy juice, because it's like joy made of cowskin.) If you ever need an enabler....er...I mean...shopping buddy to tell you you absolutely DO need that bag in that unicorn color, feel free to drop me a note. It'd be a good excuse to drive over there, even if my wallet's screaming at me for even suggesting it right now. :)

Unfortunately thay will not ship outside the US and I will not use a forwarding company - too much hassle and not usually necessary anymore. It's a pity but maybe they see themselves as more of a local company and dont need the issues shipping to international customers would bring.

What do you think about bag brands that don't apply Edge Coat to their otherwise quality bags? It's the one thing that turns me off which is a shame because oftentimes the leather quality is quite comparable to luxury designer houses. But it feels unfinished, like the company just didn't care enough or took pride in the craftsmanship to the last detail. Just my personal taste, but this is what I love about Coach, their edges are well done.

Well, we went from "that's not my thing" to now promoting them. 🤔. Be very careful of color transfer. I have ruined many of my other small leather goods because of color transfer since the bag is not lined.

@@AutumnBeckman Yeah. That's how it goes. I mainly use my honey colored tote backpack because there is no color transfer. You would probably like the smooth black tote backpack because it looks really classy with the zippers. Just don't put anything light colored inside. I live about a 5 min walk from their store and I may go try on some shoes. Been wanting to get the black loafers since they came out.
