Thank you so much Linda for your well wishes with our Grandson. The scarf/ shawl, is that the peach shawl you are meaning? It is actually crocheted, not knitted, I'm afraid with a 3.5 crochet hook.

Lin if it was DK 8ply I would knit with 4.00mm needles and with 4ply/fingering I would knit with 2.5mm or 2.75mm. I would recommend the DK weight and the 4mm needles as that would grow faster and not be so labourious.@@lindaeastment4542
