Antonio Corzo The harpsichord’s role is to ‘realise’ the bass, ie fill in the chords (supported by string bass instruments and/or the theorbo); it’s supposed to be discrete and blend into the background, and be silent when not needed. The continuo playing in all this group’s performances is superb.
