Shame about the mic but I still really like this vlogging style! It's the kind that I have used since I find it easier than talking to the camera on the go

Simon, I thought your style of vlogging in this video was your best style yet. It is similar to a documentary where clips are shown amidst commentary, but you accomplished it in such an interesting and fun way. I'm almost glad your microphone died because it meant that you had to adopt a new style, a style that was fresh and deserving of your final week as a PhD student. Very well done.

How completely wonderful to see the moment of hand in after all those agonising code-related twists and turns of the journey! I know the viva is still to come but what a very great victory the handing in was after everything you had had to wrestle with - huge congratulations, Simon :) And I loved the unconventional approach resulting from the sound issues - it was the perfect solution!

Ever since I discovered your channel last year, your videos propelled and motivated me through my last year of high school and my first year (so far) of my astrophysics undergrad! Simon, congratulations on all the hard work that you have put into this endeavor that has finally ended with you submitting your thesis. You have put blood sweat and tears into this and you have come out on top. These vlogs and the tellings of your work throughout the years has been amazing and has also helped to energize me and I'm sure of countless others students, to continue or to begin the path you have just completed. You're a tremendous beacon of inspiration to anyone who wants to complete the journey. I know that I am only in my second year as an undergrad for Astrophysics, but now I feel as if this dream of submitting a thesis, to hopefully become a doctor, is truly achievable. Thanks to your documenting of your experiences it has given a new light on what it means to be a Ph.D. student. Thank you again for all of your hard work, cheers Zach.
