CMC provides as much detail in 1/18 scale for US$700, whereas Amalgam's 1/18 scale models are closed resin and cost almost twice as much CMC. I own one 1/18 scale Amalgam (Jaguar E Type). It's nice, but unless they change their 1/18 scale models to something resembling their 1/8 scale models in terms of manipulable parts, that will be my last Amalgam purchase. CMC is the benchmark for 1/18 scale. Just making that point because $18K, and I guess 1/8 scale, is out of the question for me and probably most model collectors.

Absolutely brilliant but way too expansive. If the 1:8 Models were around 3k I would buy two....but 18k? No way.

The models are correctly priced) Some wallets out there are way to thin. One can wait a bit and see if it gets thicker, or one can purchase something else)

@@pkl8811 I understand the confussion of seeing a 'toy car'. Yeah, why pay 18K when one can get a toy car at 500? And why pay 100K for a swiss wristwatch, when one can get a watch at 10 bucks that do the same job at showing time, and might even better? Too people going for these high end expencive items, they see something more in them than just a 'toy car', or just a watch. and others can neither see it, nor afford it, so then the solution is easy; going for one of the more affordable options
