That’s what I need. No more having 5 shots in 10-15 fps and one 30-40 fps outside of that. Thanks for the info and replies!

Just bought mine. Pricey, but very easy to use and accurate. Love it.

It is a little pricey but it does work very well, I just loaded about 1,500 rounds for a varmint hunt and it was exceptionally quick compared to some other units I have. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

I just bought one of these as the weighing and charging the cases is what slows me down the most and makes reloading less pleasurable than what it could be. I'll use a second digital scale alongside this to verify charge weights every 10-15 throws or so. Hunting Prairie Dogs up to 300 yards means I have to be quite accurate in my load construction so having good tools, components and processes is critical.

The Auto Charge is really a great tool, I use it quite often especially for charging pistol cases. It is very nice to have hands free operation while charging cases and certainly can help speed up the whole process. These days that is what I am all about, saving time while still producing good accurate handloads. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

Great video. I have one of these on order now. I see you mentioned the settings for h1000 and cfe223. What about the flake powder settings?
@HandloaderTV Жыл бұрын
The settings I was using for Red dot which is a flake powder was a target of 8.0 grains, speed of 5.5 and time of 1.4 those are by no means perfect but it worked well for me and should provide a good starting point for you. Since making the video I have used the heck out of this thing and it has continued to perform very well for me. I just used it to load over 500 rounds of 45-70 for a shoot. Thanks for watching and great question I hope that helps you out and if you have any further questions don't hesitate to reach out! -Thanks for watching! --Jeremiah

Looks like excellent value. At about $350 vs. $900 for the Matchmaster, the Hornady is all I’d need for general use. If I was a bench rest competitor, maybe I’d need the increased precision.
@HandloaderTV4 жыл бұрын
Indeed the Matchmaster is a great powder dispenser and we love ours but at the same time it is not for everyone. This is a nice middle of the road option and still offers easy tuning for whatever powder type you may be dispensing. Thank you for watching glad you found it informative!

I like this Hornady Auto Charge Pro scle/powder dispenser .My 1st Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Charge Powder Dispenser was a f--king disaster.But to Hornadys credit they sent me a newer version Auto Charge Pro and its great.I love it. I did buy the V4 Auto Trickler & Scale..Mine are both Tit for Tat.. Good video.

I did not like the first dispensers either, I did not get one and after speaking with others I am glad that I stuck with the RCBS chargemaster 1500. However now I use the auto charge pro over my chargemaster 1500s. Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to watch and comment we greatly appreciate it! --Jeremiah

can the machine be used with black powder?
@HandloaderTV2 жыл бұрын
That is debatable, I sadly don't have a good answer for you on that one other than it is not recommended. This is due to the possibility of static electricity and it's relationship with black powder. I have heard of folks making modifications to ground the unit and reduce the chance of static electricity. However personally I would not use this for black powder. Thanks for watching! --Jeremiah

I’ve bee struggling… I want to pull the trigger on this but it’s not cheap. Whenever I go over the reviews, I always see the negative reviews, I also believe that those people wouldn’t leave a review if the product is good but bc they had issues they fill out the review… I just want to know it is this has any “common” mistakes

What are the speed and time settings for cfe223? Can't really tell in the video what they are. Thanks

Speed is 3.5 and the time is 1.5 there is probably a little wiggle room in there but that should get you in the ballpark. Great question and thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! --Jeremiah

What settings did you run for h1000? I have imr 4831 and my Autocharge is in the mail. Curious if your settings would work well for 4831z.

Target of 75.0 grains, speed of 1.5 and time of 3.0 for H-1000, I imagine it would but you could probably fine tune it a little more for that particular powder. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

It’s definitely time for me to get one of these as I’m really tired of trying to weigh charges on those digital pocket scales. I also don’t seem to have the necessary intelligence to use a balance beam scale.
@HandloaderTV4 жыл бұрын
I think this would be a really big upgrade from the pocket type scales. The balance beam scales can be very tricky. This unit would be a massive upgrade from a balance beam scale.
@876mpr4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve had way too many good velocity strings ruined by what I can only trace to an incorrect scale reading.
@HandloaderTV4 жыл бұрын
@@876mpr That is a bummer! You definitely don't want your scale as a variable in your handloading process. So far we have had good results from this scale and it has proved to be accurate to a 1/10th of a grain.

Relying on the dispenser's scale to 'verify' that it threw a proper charge is a big mistake. When the pan was removed the negative weight displayed changed by .2 between different charges indicating that the scale probably drifted by about .2 wile charging, then automatically reset to 0 when the pan was put back on. I'm guessing you could put the pan on with .1 or .2 grains of powder in it and it would re-zero.
@HandloaderTV3 жыл бұрын
I will say I have experienced the scale after extended loading sessions to drift by about .1 grain. However the drift you saw in this video was between calibrations after changing powders. You bring up a good point and almost every electronic dispenser has that shortcoming if there is a 1/10th of a grain of powder on the scale or pan often times the scale will just re-zero, therefore it is critical to ensure that you pan is complete empty after emptying the powder pan. Thank you for watching it is nice to see that our audience is as detail orientated as we try to be.

You cannot 'check' four digit accuracy into a two digit accuracy product regardless of how many different ways you check it. The Hornady Auto Charge Pro accuracy is more than adequate for its intended use and it is very functional. If you need more accuracy then you need to spend more money.
@DonziGT2303 жыл бұрын
@@hleigh842 No idea what you're referring to by your two digit and four digit comment. If being up to .2 off on charges is good enough for you then this product is good enough for you. As for cost, I've got a cheap scale that reads to the hundredth with very good repeatability. It has some drift and some delay when trickling, but pretty darn good for a $40 scale. I don't remember if it was this video or another one, but I discovered that this dispenser will allow for a small overcharge and display it as 'ok'.

@@876mpr not everything if you planned accordingly and went with non-tredny but, still highly effective powders. I phased out a lot of Hodgdon, with the last powder shortage and went with more Accurate, Ramshot & Shooters World. Now that Hodgdon has acquired Western, that's going to be scarce now too, even in a time of plenty.
