Great video. For a practice load in your Charter Arms 44 Special revolver, the start charge of No 2 with a cowboy 200 gr cast bullet works great. Very accurate and controllable recoil.

AA#2 is my go to powder for 9mm and my 38 Special snubnose. It’s great in those guns. No muzzle flash and the gun stays quite clean. I’ve also used it in my Beretta 96 40 S&W with the 5 inch barrel. It works fine but slightly slower powders seem better with the heavier bullets and longer barrel. I don’t know where you got the load data for 40 S&W but you appear to be too hot. Hodgdon’s website shows max load for your combination at 5.4 grains. Good informative video and I look forward to more.

Keep up the good work. Maybe you could make a Profile video of the 4 powders that have '4350" in their designation; AAC4350, SW4350, IMR4350 and H4350. Appears to be 4 different powders with the same number.

Nice - I am trying to learn more about this powder. I picked some up when any powder was hard to get. Like you say this is economical and I'm learning like you it is very versatile. At first I was pretty confused when I looked it up in my 15 manuals - there is quite a bit of variance in charges from older sources to new. I went with the Accurates most recent data in 9mm and 40 in preparation for a self defense class. The narrow min to max was a little concerning so I started at minimum did 10 test rounds and worked up a little. I don't recall the final loads - but minimum for the 40 was a bit too light with Berry's 155 plated so I moved up to where I had reliable function in a Walther P99 and stopped at a middle of the road load. I fired 500 round in the class and felt it was quite accurate, functioned perfectly and didn't wear me out. I use a Lyman Turrett with a Lee Proauto disk - and the charges stayed amazingly consistent even when the powder hopper got pretty low. Accuracy was very good for the class. I loaded anoter 400 rounds of 9mm with a mix of FMJ, commercial cast lead and some Berrys plated - all at 123-155 gr. in a Taurus PT92. Again I had a low middle range load that didn't beat the gun and functioned well. After my initial concern for this new to me powder - I am very happy with it - I didn't quite empty my first pound with over 1,000 loads - economical accurate, and quite clean burning. I'm eager to try it in 38 special too. Good Stuff.

You have come to the right place it is indeed a versatile powder and it is important to note how big the variance can be when looking at old versus new data. You made a smart move using the most recent data with a newer lot of powder. Thank you for taking the time to share all of that experimenting and experience with us here in the comments section. I think we have the best comment section on KZbin because folks can come down here and learn new things and share experiences with one another. Glad to hear that you are happy with the powder and always happy we can provide information to folks who need it. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment we greatly appreciate it! --Jeremiah

Yes, over here in Europe (Netherlands) this powder is very popular too in its Lovex D032 iteration. What I don't understand is why you don't shoot on paper targets so you can add the results to the summary/overview at the end. Nice job though, thanks for sharing!

I think you'll find the newer No2 burns a lot cleaner than the original recipe. When it first came out I was disappointed with how dirty it burned but everything improves I guess. The Bullseye I was trying to replace was also quite dirty.

I use no. 2 in my 9mm practice rounds. I like it but because it's not as versatile as other powders for high performance in a variety of calibers i won't be replacing it. I have to many different powders and I'm consolidating.
@HandloaderTV8 ай бұрын
That is true it is not as versatile as some other powders but in the cartridges it can be used performance is usually pretty good. I completely understand consolidating powders though. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

I'd like to see an analysis of Accurate 2200 since I picked up 50+ lbs of it the other day. Think you can help? Any good in .243 Winchester? Or heavy bullets in .223/5.56? I like your selection of Pistols. I'm looking for an 8-3/8" Model 25 to go with my other N-frames (.357, .41, .44).

I have several handguns and rifles in different, or you can say unique calibers. The Ruger .480 (looking to reload 400-425 grain LFNGC. Also have a very rare Sako model 75, 26" stainless barrel in 7mm Remington ultra magnum (want to reload 140-175 grain general hunting loads). Then lastly a Ruger model 77 with 20" barrel in .338 Ruger compact magnum (looking to load 185-225 grains, like the no longer found factory rounds). If you can suggest a powder for any of these ? It's appreciated... I always enjoy your very informative videos.
@RTmadnesstoo7 ай бұрын
I picked up a Colt Police Positive revolver in .38 S&W a while back but haven't gotten setup for reloading it yet. It has an odd size bullet at .361" and the factory loads I've bought have been disappointingly inaccurate. It seems that I'll need a dedicated bullet mold for those larger bullets and .38 Spl/.357 Mag dies won't work either. Have you found good solutions to these 'problems'? I haven't found a bullet mold that wasn't a couple thousandths to small.
@HandloaderTV7 ай бұрын
To be honest I have had mine for a couple of years not and I just haven't had the time to do much testing with mine, I don't think my bore diameter is quite that large but I can't remember what it slugs out to off the top of my head. I do plan on doing a load development video on the cartridge at some point but sadly, again I haven't had the time. Hopefully sometime soon. I would say if your bore slugs out to .361" then you are going to need jacketed bullets of that size or cast bullets .001" over that. I would think that would help your accuracy issues. I would also suggest a rather soft alloy 1:10 or 1:12 so the bullet can properly obturate to create a proper gas seal. Great question I wish I could be of more help. Who makes the Handloader shooting bench you use in the field. (not the loading bench)
@HandloaderTV11 ай бұрын
Great question, I wish I had better news for you though sadly that bench is a Konig Jager Super Bench and as far as I am aware they are no longer being made. It is a great bench and maybe if you are lucky you could find a used one somewhere but these days we recommend Stukey's Sturdy Shooting Benches as a portable stable alternative. I would highly recommend checking those benches out and doing it soon. Thank you for watching and taking the the time to comment! --Jeremiah

Ads and their frequency that are displayed on your KZbin depends on your location, zip code, IP address, your local time and what may Google think that you'd be interested in 😊. Say, for me I received zero ads during the video, but other videos I watch other times riddled with ads, some even you cannot skip, had to sit there with audio muted for 15 seconds!

Accurate No. 2 works great in the 9mm Luger and we stated so in the video, we just wanted to showcase cartridges and guns that were not previously featured in a video. There are so many good powders that work in 9mm Luger and so much load data out there we thought it might get a little redundant if we showcased it in this video. We appreciate the feedback though and will certainly take it into consideration moving forward. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
