Sara , listen to me, fellow sewer, loves your channel. Used machines are a dime a dozen. Get yourself a spare machine, serviced and ready to go. Its SO frustrating not being able to finish a project. I know! We sew. We don't need more frustrations.

funnily enough, my husband said almost the exact same thing. there are reasons though why i don't want another machine right now. i can try to talk about it in another video if you're interested.

I have a backup machine and am very glad for it - when I had to leave my "good" machine for service, I didn't know what I would do with myself while I waited for it to return! Having the backup machine is like a spare tire and it means I can still sew. The red jacket looks really good on you, BTW, and all your looks were lovely!

I love when you share your "what I wore this week" videos. So nice. Im so sorry your machine broke. I felt that pain. 😢 Thursday outfit is my favorite! ❤ I'm cautious with white. But I love how the jeans are slightly cropped to prevent them from getting dirty. Saturday's jacket ❤❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing

My sister always has a spare machine, just in case. Buy an inexpensive Brother online or find a GOOD, used machine ❤

What brand machine do you have? Where do you get your repairs? (Don't answer me, but let me know if you want alternatives.) And did they say how long it would take? There are a few repair places locally that will take any brand. And they don't send them out- they repair in-house, so its quicker. But I also hate waiting for the repairs to be done. It took 2 weeks to get it back. I bought an inexpensive Babylock machine last time mine was in for repairs. It goes thru anything and is more portable than my regular machine. Some of the machine dealers will also sell used machines that they got as a trade-in. You can find a back-up machine.

i have a Janome 7700. there's a general sewing machine repair shop locally where I take my machines. the repair man said it would probably be a couple of weeks. i can live with that.

Oof! Sorry to hear about your machine. I hope you get it back soon! Your outfits are great. I love to see how people are wearing their me mades for every day life. It's not Spring where I live either. We are currently having unusually cold and wet weather. Thank you for this video!

I like all the outfits, but really like Thursday’s outfit! The white jeans look great! If you’re interested in a back up sewing machine, I’m downsizing my machines and have an older (actually made in Sweden) Viking electronic machine I plan to get rid of. It’s the Viking Freesia 415.

thanks for the offer, but i'm not planning to buy a new machine right now.

I like to match my bag to my outfits and i have so many that i switch it up every day so i can wear them all on a regular basis. i keep all of my things in pouches so it's not a big deal to transfer my stuff to a new bag every day.

sorry about your machine😢 I do love what you wear and how you style your clothing. you look expensive but not in an over the top kind of way. When i see your makes I always contemplate buying better quality fabrics. I’m on a spending freeze and working my way through my stash slowly. Anyway, good luck with your machine and hopefully its a quick fix🤞🏾
@knottygnome9 ай бұрын
thank you! that is really nice of you to say. i definitely think that better quality fabrics end up being worth it in the end.

I love the white jeans outfit and the red blazer outfit. Your collection of vintage Coach bags is really nice. When I crochet motifs I usually work in batches of 10 before I change colour or tuck in ends. It breaks the calm flow if I do it sooner and it's too overwhelming if I do it later lol.
@knottygnome9 ай бұрын
i just hate sewing in ends so much that it's better for me to take care of it on each motif after i complete one, especially when you change color every round. otherwise i would leave them all in a pile and never touch them again.

I love your style! Sorry it has been so cold there for spring. There oughta be a law against that. 🤣 A while back, you had a styling video with a leather belt that kind of tied closed. I loved that belt, but it was pricey, and I didn't get it. I still think about it, though. Do you know which belt I'm talking about? Can you point me at it again. If I've been thinking about it all this time, I should just get it, right?
@knottygnome9 ай бұрын
It’s the Isabel Marant Lecce belt. I bought mine secondhand and I highly recommend going that route if you can find one. I think I paid $140 for mine, which is still a lot but if you wear it often it’s not such a bad deal.

Faux leather trousers hot? Comfortable?
@knottygnome9 ай бұрын
i've only worn them in colder months but no, i haven't found them overly hot. i will definitely be putting them in storage though, when the weather warms up.
