You ladies are amazing. Making quilts is an art. My Mom and Mother-in-law both made many quilts. Mom had her quilt in a frame my dad made and it hung from the ceiling, she'd roll it down to quilt, the roll it back up to the ceiling at night. My sisters and I would keep her needles threaded. Wonderful memories. Love your channel, and love you ladies.

I’m a 28 year old quilter and have been quilting for about a decade now. This is the first and only place I’ve seen quilting the way I was taught by my grandmother. I even have the same quilt hoop and stand in the video! Thank you for uploading this to show the world the old way to quilt.

I love the fans, the girls in long dresses! Anna quilt is beautiful. I sew my quilts with a machine, but it takes a couple hundred hours because of the pattern or details. One quilt had 1200+, 2.5 inch squares, to fit a Calif King size. Which = a couple hundred hours.

My goodness y'alls quilts are beautiful!! I'd love to make a few for my daughters and my grandbaby that's on the way but I don't think I'd have the patience for it. I reckon I'll stick to crocheting for now. But hopefully one day I'll get brave enough to give er a try!

Thank you ❤️ It does take some patience at first but gets easier after the first couple. Granny and Aunt Cindy crocheted dresses and little things. What do you like to crochet?

She’s actually right. The best advice is to just go for it and if you don’t like it, your seam ripper will be right by your side, to make everything better! I like to tell people that sewing isn’t anything but a bunch of straight lines; a bunch of seams , you just smush together. LOL! ❤ It seems to knock a lot of stress off when you look at it that way!

How do you keep the thread from knotting and what type of thread do you use
@cindytate76163 жыл бұрын
For quilting we buy handquilting thread from Walmart. Embroidery thread is DMC brand. There is no way of stopping knotting, we have plenty of them. I usually walk away for a minute then come back to it.
@barbarajester79023 жыл бұрын
Cindy sounds like I’m useing the right thread then, I have also used chap stick to coat my hand quilting thread it helps with the knotting some I was hoping you had a better idea. We have to take the good with the bad, I love your quilting
