I love this video! Thankyou so much for showing every part of this, even the end with attaching the pocket to your pattern piece. Thankyou so so much 🙏🏻 your sewing is beautiful and your work is extremely neat, tidy and precise 🥰

Very helpful tutorial. For trimming the seam allowance, I found it quicker and easier to use pinking shears instead of cutting triangles all around.

Thanks for this very well made video, you're a life saver. I've been staring at my burda skirt pattern for like 3 hours trying to figure out everything you just did from their 3 poorly written sentences (and I have to do two!) lol Definitely subscribing!

Connie Turner fab glad it helped, about the music 😳 I was quite new to making videos when I filmed this one, you shouldn’t find any irritating repetitive music in my newer vids! ☺️

Great tute, and lovely fabric! I’m working on my first jacket now that has patch pockets, so I’ll use this for sure. I also liked the tip of using a walking foot. Thanks! :)

Your video is great but I do wish I didn't have to listen to the same musical phrase every few minutes.

Great tutorial, thank you. The pocket placement idea simply genius! Have tried something similar before on a pinafore and found my lining fabric peaking out the side a bit when I added the pocket to the garment. Any tips for avoiding that at all?
@HandmadeByDitsyTulip7 жыл бұрын
Sharon McHarg no problem at all ☺️ yes if you cut the lining a few mm smaller this will ensure that it rolls to the inside when you turn it right side out! This blog post explains the principle, hope it helps x www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2013/12/free-pattern-make-fake-fur-collar.html?m=1

Hi Diane, I’m new to your tutorials. Just love learning and although I can follow sewing a pattern, I don’t know the principals of adjusting. I’m 5’3” and size 8, and don’t know what to do except male garment shorter. This is not always the answer. I need a new sewing machine and would like to know what you recommend. I want to sew more. Also what is best way to add a lining to a mans shirt? He uses mechanical pencils& pens for work. The leakage can run through to outside of pocket. Thanks for your incredible teaching!💫ann

Hi Ann, all my machines are good quality but second hand, I have Janome standard machines and a Babylock overlocker and never had issues with any of them even though they are all more than 10 years old! My advice would be to not be afraid to just try things with adjusting a pattern and as annoying as it is a toile helps so that you can get the fit correct before cutting into your best fabric! :) I'm also 5ft 3 and size 8 and I find that I don't often have to adjust patterns other than length and sometimes a small bust adjustment, By Hand London have some great bust adjustment videos for small and large adjustments byhandlondon.com/blogs/sew-alongs/13550037-flora-dress-sewalong-3-fba-sba-full-bust-adjustment-small-bust-adjustment xx

Such a lovely fabric! Where can I find it? Do you know what it is called? Great video will be handy for when I start to sew my winter coat 😊👍🏻

Sewaholic Tina Hi Tina, unfortunately it was from the remnant basket at Abakhan so I don’t have any info about what it is, such a shame as I’d definitely get more too! Good luck with your winter coat ☺️
