🤗 yes! I need to spend more time there too! It’s so fun for chords but pretty weird melodically and for scales 🤓 I’ve dream to for years of a stepper motor foot controlled programable rotating stand 😆

Very helpful information, thank you! However, when I saw that this video was about positions, I thought you might be giving some tips on how to hold the instrument. I'm 59 and overweight, and having it on my lap just doesn't work really well for me, so I'm going to use a stand. It's interesting how in the myriad of handpan videos that I've watched on KZbin, I haven't seen one old or overweight person. Guess I'm just on the cutting edge! 😉

I have had many students in the past with similar challenges we have been able to over come with the right set up. You can email me at Handpan360@gmail.com and we can brainstorm a few possible solutions :)

Peter this was really simply useful. Thank you. I often turned my pan and like the sound I was playing but later on forgot which side I played on to create that sound again. So see, this info is simply useful indeed. Much appreciated . Again, thank you.

Hi Peter I love love love your class! I am passionate about the hand pan, I’ve been waiting for years to get one and then they came down in price to be more affordable. I was just wondering if you give private lessons over the phone? Yeah, just just a question, throwing it out there. Thank you for all you do…for going slow…you could even go slower for me but it’s great. So blessings on you and your work and your beautiful magical instruments. Peace, Norm

🙏🏽 thank you. My pleasure. I’m so glad ur connecting with the videos. What d minor do you have? Do you know the notes? I’ll put GOT on the list but so much to share still so I don’t know if or when I’ll get to it. Thanks again for watching.

Well done ... another brilliant Explanation Video. Short, precise, open and none dominant. You are letting the player decide what fits best for him. - You are open up closed doors. Thank you Peter. Keep going. Cheers ... Stefan.

Always love these tasty little lessons. I’ve wondered about positioning and didn’t really understand how other positions could be beneficial if I can access all the notes regardless. It makes sense now seeing/hearing that the benefit of other positions is how your able to move your hands around the instrument and the speed versus other/standard positions. Thanks Peter!
@Handpan3604 жыл бұрын
Totally. Speed, and also comfort, ease, flow, and access to new ideas and patterns. Some patterns just make more sense in another position. Also, often times, by playing in a new position, I come up with new ideas, that I may apply back in position 1 or in the new position.
