This and unimagine are so amazing, i first met this band through a dragon ball goku tribute amv with their song "Development" loved this song so much i forgot to check the rest of their songs haha, so i started hearing the entire unimagine album several years later and then reimagine and this week ive gotten to this amazing album ground dweller. Such an amazing band

This song is my favorite off the album and probably one of my top 5 songs by them. The guitar and drums are awesome. His lyrics ,and voice are equally awesome. Just everything about this band is awesome. Granted, people hate them for no valid reason. I don't understand because they are not trying to be copies of anyone. Anyways I'm hoping to see them live at least once. I love the energy they put into the music and they have been a big inspiration for me as a singer of a band.(got to my g+ for more) I guess what I'm trying to say is HLH is one if not the most talented band of this generation.
@2000Doriyas8 жыл бұрын
+Brad Williams the only thing that is totally reasonable to not like is the guitar tone and generally super clean production, I don't think it's all that bad and pretty characteristic of this style, but having a just slightly rawer sound would make this much more listenable to me. Most of the people who hate them pretty much hate this type of pop/post-hardcore genre entirely.

There’s better ways for us to waste our days, Than returning stares that we borrowed for too long. For too long, swallowed up by an empty page. What starvation feeds you, devourer Of the words of a thousand authors and poets, alike? Wells have emptied to whet your thirst, So I’ll shake out to the last, a drop of fluency To carve ink into these precious words, To dedicate a thought in desperation. We could light a fire and forge a silver tongue. Drawn beneath our blunt remarks, Fashioned from all of our meaningless change. What would it take, to pry these ragged teeth, to tear these jaws apart? What would it prove, to wrench them from my heels, to shed them from my heart? Swallowing swords, sharpened by turning cheeks between blows. I feel this is better left a performers art. It’s a narrow throat that keeps a razor’s edge from the heart. I’d rather not speak in tongues. But I’ll take every breath - I’ll make every breath a piper, charming flames, Singing and dancing, out from their smouldering bed. Swallow the pen, devour the sword. Inhale the proverbs whole. Spinning on static, gouged before the peak. In this chaos of frequencies it’s so hard to speak. This noise is nameless, Stumbling like a beggar, Desperate for some kind of change.

@TheJSBUCK This comment reminds me of Closure in Moscow (and the fact that both bands are from Australia, lol). They did an incredible job making their guitars stand out from every other instrument. Like each and every instrument had a very distinct sound and could easily be picked out from the rest. I like Hands like Houses more, but I prefer the quality of Closue in Moscow's sound.

Why do people think they sound like Jamie's Elsewhere? I mean, I'd put them in the same genre, but Jamie's Elsewhere is better (imo). These guys are pretty darn good, though, and looking up their lyrics I see the same kind of songwriting that I love JE for. Except it's kinda hard to understand what HLH is saying sometimes, even with the lyrics in front of me. But still - "Swallow the pen, devour the sword. Inhale the proverbs whole." That's great stuff.
