This is such a sad song. I love how you kept the meaning but added more genuine anger, the kind someone desperate would feel if the lyrics were true and they were utterly emotionally defeated, or torn. The way you say "This IS how I feel!" Struck me as someone who was trying but failing to communicate and perhaps others see them as not trying. Yes, this definitely has what the original just didn't have for me.

They are really great. This cover is what introduced me to them (there were other bands on this compilation that I already liked), and I was quite blown away when I looked up their original work. (btw there are technically 2 originals: the true one was written by Ednaswap, but this cover is based on the cover by Natalie Imbruglia; not sure if you missed that in the video)

The way the singer pronounces the sentences and slightly changed the lyrics hit me deep. Also glad that the band didn't went overboard with technical riffs and effects since this enhances the emotional atmosphere of the song.
