I bought one of these about 4 months ago. I can't believe how much enjoyment I still get from wearing it. Something about the absolutely casual, yet rugged simplicity really speaks to me. I am so glad I bought it. It's a great daily driver especially if you don't wear a suit and tie everyday.

Does it wear small ? I’m hesitating with the 42mm model for my 7 inch wrists 😉
@JustinScottYT Жыл бұрын
@@hdmedia7404 Depends on how you want it to fit I guess. I think I am around 6.5 and I think the 38mm fits my wrist perfectly for this style of watch. the lug to lug I think is quite a bit longer than on other watches so I think a 42 would probably look to big on me. If possible I would try and find a hamilton dealer in your area, or order from a site that does good with returns.

I have the black pvd version. Paid $400 after tax added, new. The watch gains about 1 second per day, which is pretty good, and better than losing seconds as about once per month I can just stop it for half a minute instead of resetting the hands.

2:04 This is so true, as simplicity is often unfairly equated with minimalism. The former emphasizes functionality, while the latter deliberately strips down elements to the bare minimum (bad approach IMO). A clean and functional design doesn't have to be synonymous with blandness.

How many years should there be between services, and what is the cost of getting one of these H-50 movements serviced? I really don't know. Will I have to send it to Hamilton for it to be regulated when serviced? Having said that, I have this watch, along with the Khaki King (H-40) and Khaki Field Automatic (H-10). Love all three, but... I guess I could just wear one watch until it stops running reliably, then wear the next one, and so on, until I myself, or my watch collection are used up.

All the people in the comments saying 'only 5atm' are the same people that will never go that depth in water anyway. It's a simple field watch, not a divers. That said i have the 42mm as my daily and tbh i do own more 'luxury' watches but i find myself wearing this more often than not. Get a canvas zuludiver strap and you have something that is simple and can wear all day.

The prices for Swiss watches are absurd (retail for this Hamilton watch is about 550USD). Militado ML05 watch is the same watch (only difference in look, is that is doesn't have lug pin holes on the outside) and it costs about 40-45 USD. Same quality case and workmanship. Militado has seiko VH31 quartz movement, Hamilton has ETA mechanical, but how much can the price go up because of that.

@@F.haique It is a homage to the cold war watch. Nobody says it's a military watch or should be the go to watch in the modern military. That's like rolling out a Sherman tank and saying ,"can I fight in the Ukraine war with it?" It's just a great simple everyday watch with a great dial to tell time instantly with a Swiss made movement. It is the most comfortable watch I've worn too even with it's NATO strap it came with. BTW, I'm a retired 30 year veteran. For us regular folks, the "military" watch in my time is whatever was available at the BX, ( which was usually G-Shock and Timex).

No, my friend, it was not the Americans who beat the Nazi’s in WWII. It was overwhelmingly the Russians.
@mrothpsy Жыл бұрын
The Russians only joined the allied forces because Hitler turned on Stalin. The US, Britain and USSR won the war. Leaving the US and Britain out is just dumb.
@tacosaretasty11 ай бұрын
Russia obviously lended the most manpower and ground the Germans down in the east. The cost was far higher than on the western front. It was American and British air power though that destroyed the German industrial base. Also what about all of the lend-lease help the Russians received from America/Britain? Everyone did their part.

Things I would highlight are the fact that like 10 percent of the Soviet tanks where given by America, nearly all the trucks and military jeeps where American at the time USA was known to be one of the only military super power to motorize its army. Other nations had trucks but it was not as wide spread.
