I’m blown away. I’ve been reviewing other reloader videos and those who review tools like your sight adjusting tool and other gunsmith tools. You offer for me the most clear and in depth reviews I’ve witnessed and you have a good feel for what you can “shortcut” and what you shouldn’t. Thank you from an 80 year old combat vet “shooter.”

Great demonstration. The biggest challenge is always a dovetail front sight as most pushers don't *correctly* support the slide imo.
@stacktier82576 ай бұрын
MGW shoe plates are a nice touch for support, even though a shortcoming seems to be they limit the front sight installation. i.e. MGW Pro tool seems to be the standard for a pro shop, notably not their Rangemaster tool, with a limited .750" Reach From the Backside of the underlug/ dust/spring cover/blast slide (the name of this part of a slide seems to be controversial) seems to be a positioned in relation to the shoe plate. Their Pro installs a full 1.750" Front Sight Reach Capacity using a shoe plate. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXWWgaB6iLeYf6s This Lyman seems to be a solid choice for a non, additional supported shoe plate approach, and likely isn't as limited in reach for pistols with longer underlugs/ dust/spring covers/blast slides.

what about the front sight adjustment ?

This looks like a great tool. May have to pop for one. Coulda used more closeups to better illustrate slide positioning. But thanks Gavin.

I'm still using a punch and hammer to adjust sights... LOL I'll probably break down and pick one of these up because I've had really good luck with Lyman tools!!!

Boy I really need one. I replaced my sights without any special tools. And it's off by a mil and didn't feel like centering it , untill saw this

I use a similar tool but with a laser boresight to get me close which saves time and ammo.

How about the front sight? Like for a XD9 Factory sight replacement I here they are tight!
@morscodez3 жыл бұрын
Have a different brand, centering is still an issue. I was hoping to see your measurement method with the vernier depth measure as the lack of reference faces and inability to square are problematic

I'm a big fan of not having to beat sights with a hammer to move them. Also a fan of precision of the movement.The tool looks great. Is anyone aware of a more rifle friendly jig? I have an old 94 that needs a front sight drift, with the same concerns in mind.

My question is. Will this pusher work for pocket pistols such as my Ruger LCP Max? I purchased two different pushers, but neither will work for the gun because of the height of the slide. Any help would be great.

Good luck with an M & P anything. Can you do an update with one of those? I have a really good steel version (not Lyman) and I thought the tool was going to explode.

@mikebell6112 жыл бұрын
So they copied the more heavier duty MGW Sight Pro tool but dont use a slide shoe clamp to keep it centered straight before locking it down. I guess placing the slide against the side is fine till you have to install sights on a slide with a slide safety or decocker. What about the pusher block?? I see this one is angled for Glock and HK sights, MGW comes with both an angled and straight pusher blocks and a quick change shaft (and they include an allen wrench). MGW needs a new video on you tube to show the latest version. The old video is from like 10 years ago.... At least the Lyman is made in the USA like the MGW Sight Pro.

Should of used a steel sight, the plastic one moves real easy no matter what you use. To me not a good test.
