I just ordered this camera, I am looking forward to it as it will be my first full frame. A lot of people kept telling me to go with canon but I feel Nikon would be a better suited for me as I just focus on stills and never do video.

I have seen some positive long-term reviews after all the latest firmware updates. A good review for a light travel camera.

you mentioned the LCD and the dial being loose. how is the LCD quality impact the shot pic when you reviewing from cam. can rate (worst)1~10 (excellent)
@ZacharyLaiPhotography4 жыл бұрын
The image quality from the LCD is provided by the same non-BSI sensor in the camera, so what you see is what you get, extra noise and all. :)

Como se aprecia en fotos de este video, la Z5 es fantástica!!!!! La mejor opción por precio-prestaciones.

Hey great content how does the ftz and sigma art perform, focus ? :)
@ZacharyLaiPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Photos wise it’s fantastic. The Sigma 35 1.4 is my go-to for wedding photography, absolutely beautiful rendition and sharp focus. For video though, there’s a lot of focusing noise so you’ll need an off-camera mic.

@@ZacharyLaiPhotography Thx for the info, I have the sigma 35mm on my D750 and looking to upgrade it on the mirrorless 😉

Thank you for this video. I liked it. I am a d750 user mainly do photos no videos. I am very happy with it but I think eye detect AF and IBIS will increase my speed of capturing moments and and have more keepers. My main lens is Nikon 24-70 2.8g. I purchased a z5 yesterday. I thought that on Z5 it will work at least as good as it worked on D750 for photos. In good light it is true. But in low light most of my pictures are blurry. I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong. I use eye detect in AFS and AFC mode. Very frustrating. It finds eye well but the review of picture show that eye was not sharp. Any suggestion from you will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, it's hard to say without seeing the image. My experience with the Z5 was definitely better than this. What were the settings for the blurry photos?
@sanjagani4 жыл бұрын
@@ZacharyLaiPhotography I tried with area AF in AFC or AFS with eye detect on. Also tried single point AF without luck. 1/100 to 1/200 shutter speed ISO was high up from 4000 to 16k at 2.8 to 3.2
@ZacharyLaiPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Without seeing the photo, my bet would be the noise from the iso is too much.1/100 for people is too slow as well, I’d go minimum 1/200 for my events and weddings 😊 The lack of bsi sensor in the Z5 does affect low light performance a fair bit. That’s why I’d prefer the z6
@kunalsobti11413 жыл бұрын
Do not crank up iso more than 8k. After that you will start seeing grains.

Thanks for the great video and photos... Image quality comparison of Z5 & Z6 side by side would be great

Great video! Glad I found your channel. I’m a d750 shooter, shooting landscapes travel street and low light, no video. The Z5 looks like it might be for photographers, but reviews aren’t the best. Any thoughts on low light, is there much difference between the Z5 and Z6
@ZacharyLaiPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy! If you don’t need the 2 card slots, I’d recommend the Z6 over the Z5, especially in terms of low light performance. The lack of Back-Side-Illuminated sensor in the Z5 really hurts its low light performance. 😕
@nancyk94754 жыл бұрын
@@ZacharyLaiPhotography thank you. I was looking at overall costs of the CFExpress cards on the Z6, when I compare the cost of the cards and the ability of Z6ii using the cheaper UHS-II, the Z6ii is only about $350 more then a Z6(and getting a couple CFExpress cards). I appreciate the reply and information from a Z5 user.
@coltoncyr22834 жыл бұрын
@@nancyk9475 I would then chose the Z6ii. It has Cfe/sd slots, and better iso performance. I'm in the same boat, the price of the Z5 seems nice now but the Z6ii out performs this all for another $80O which seems a lot, but since you shoot low light, you will need 1.8 glass on that body. I wouldn't use f4 indoors/in the dark. Z6 memory though.. $$ 🤮, I think id spend that extra money on better glass or go for the 6ii.
@nancyk94754 жыл бұрын
@@coltoncyr2283 thank you. Even though the Z5 checks a lot of boxes(two SD cards, not great for video), I don’t think I’d be happy with the low light capabilities of it. With the costs of a couple 128gb CFE cards and a reader($300-$350), the price difference shrinks between the Z6 and Z6ii. I’ve got a lot of F glass that I will use for awhile and then just start replacing it
@coltoncyr22834 жыл бұрын
@@nancyk9475 I was thinking about this all night, I think I might lean towards the Z5 over the Z6ii. I've been using old DX lenses and this will be my first FX. I don't shoot much, and with Z5 at $1200, I can use that $800 on a nice lens, I want that Z6ii but for me it just doesn't add up. Have fun with your new Z!

Zachary Lai Photography Love to hear your thoughts on Z5 with the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 s lens
@ZacharyLaiPhotography4 жыл бұрын
@@nateshf9303 Unfortunately I've return the Z5 to Nikon already, didn't pair it with my 24-70 F2.8 S. To be honest that lens hardly sees anymore usage, I've been shooting mostly 24-200 S and 14-30 S, and for weddings I'm still using my F mount primes or the 85 S.

That “shalom” did not age well with the current Palestine genocide in 2023 but otherwise great review. It really is the best bang for buck mirrorless Nikon has to offer.
