I'm a Nikon user. And I have to say that to me this camera just blows anything Nikon has to offer out of the water. Consider the main competition, d7100/d610 (both of which I own), AF motor: 7d ii, buffer: 7dii, ISO capability: 7dii, etc. etc. It's simply a better camera in pretty much every regard. Then again, newer is better pretty much always. We'll just have to see what Nikon brings out in the potential d7200. Tho, I'm quite sure it still won't be able to measure up to the 7dii. So kudos to Canon. If was getting my first proper DSLR right now...I'd most likely go Canon.

Were the photographs in this advertisement post processed for noise?
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Larry & the KelbyOne team processed the Canon 7D Mark II images in the same manner they process all test images, and therefore the default minor amount of noise reduction was applied to raw files in Lightroom, and none was applied to the JPEG images beyond what the camera does during normal, in-camera processing. In our experience, web video does not serve as a worthwhile medium for actual comparison testing, so we don’t generally show unprocessed raw files.

The 7D II does have a newer/improved AF microadjustment. It is the same system as in the 5D III and 70D. The 7D used the first generation version of the AF Microadjustment. The 7D II gives more precise ability to set individual AF Microadjustment values for the wide and telephoto end of a zoom lens?s range. It also allows one to enter in the serial number of the lens, so if you have multiple copies of the same lens, you can make AF adjustment for each individual lens. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com

Great review, but how about low light performance for video? Would this camera be right for shooting wedding videos at night? Or would it generate too much noise because of high ISO?
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
The 7D II will have improved low light performance over the 7D, but if you are shooting weddings in low light conditions, video lights and large aperture lenses will be a must. While I haven’t had a chance to test the 7D II, I doubt you would be able to get away with just bumping up the ISO. That being said, if low light performance is paramount to you, a full frame camera would be a better option (such as the Canon 5D III or the Canon a7S). *Christina* askbh@bandh.com
@AndresArosemena10 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the reply B and H , I do have a led light I use on top of my t3i and have a 50mm 1.8 and a 28 1.8, though the lens I use most on events is a 17-55 2.8 and I'm not sure if 2.8 is enough to shoot a wedding at night without cracking up the iso to where the t3i produces a lot of noise. That's why I'm trying to find out if the 7d mark ii produces way less noise in high iso. Canon a7s? Did you mean the Sony one? That camera looks very impressive to shoot at night, but I'm not conveyor everything else and would like to continue using my Canon lenses
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
Andres Arosemena I apologize, I did mean the Sony a7S, not the Canon a7S. The Canon 7D II should definitely have improved low light performance over the Canon T3i. How much better, until some sample footage in low light comes out, I really cannot say. Though, if you have a decent video light, with f/2.8, the camera should be more than fine. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com

You mentioned that the Sensor is redesigned. May I as what and how?
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
The 7D II has a new 20.2MP APS-C Dual Pixel CMOS sensor. It is a higher resolution sensor than the 7D, which allows for autofocus during video and live view. These would be some of the changes in the sensor. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com
@Zantetsukens10 жыл бұрын
Well, dual pixel is well advertised. Are there any improvements in sensor architecture to improve Still Image Quality (auto-focus aside)?
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
MrQiyong Well, from an engineering stand point, the dual pixel AF is the biggest change in the sensor design. That being said, the low light performance should also be improved as the sensor has an improved, higher sensitivity design as well. It does have slightly higher resolution (2MP), and according to Canon should have improved image quality. The new processor should also help with low light performance. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com

Guys, which camera is the better option if I'm not going to shoot any sport of wildlife pictures. The Canon EOS 7D Mark II or the Canon EOS 5D Mark III ? I'm not going to use it so much for video either, just want pictures that look nice (will photograph architecture, portraits, nature, landscapes ect...). Please reply with some pros and cons and tips to which one is the better camera :)
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
Where the 7D II would have the advantage would be for sports, action, and wildlife due to its speed. It would also have an advantage for video with the dual pixel autofocus. That being said, if you aren't looking to shoot any of those things, then the 5D III might be the better option. It will have the better overall image quality and low light performance. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com

Xzizia92 The image quality and low light performance of the 6D will be comparable to the 5D III, both of which will be better than the 7D II. If you aren't a pro, the 6D would be an excellent option for a full frame DSLR. *Christina*

Hey, this is simply advert! It's a praise without any analytics. The camera is not bad. But take a closer look - how much does it differ with 7D? +2mp (pretty much no difference), +2 fps, + 1 stop of real low light sensitivity, very shallow DR. Great AF, no doubts. But is this all you get for about 800 bucks over original 7D (and it will loose it's cost, remember)? Is this all we got after 5 years of development? :D Video-vise it's one of worst cameras on-pair with 5D3 - no DR, no resolution, awful codec, no 4k and no slow-mo (60p? it's 2014!!!). And now compare it to competitors in the same price range - it will not stand even close to some of them I understand you promote yourself, but if you tell more, if you do some analitycs, people will trust you more ;)
@biplav3210 жыл бұрын
Dude you forgot 61 cross type auto focus points, bigger bufffer. +2ps is huge as d4s has 11fps. 61 cross type auto focus is same as 1dx. If you want a video camera, there is gh4. Camera makers won't make all in one camera.
@ЭтоДрючинский10 жыл бұрын
***** GH4. Exactly the same price!
@biplav3210 жыл бұрын
Gh4 can't track subjects like canon 7d or 7d mk2. For stills 7d mk and mk2 are way better and for wildlife and action 7dmk2 is the best option unless you want to spend d4s and 1dx money.
@ЭтоДрючинский10 жыл бұрын
Biplav Shrestha you forgot about things like detalization, dr and so on.. Also, whe really need "stills-only" camera now? Even so, 7Dmk2 is way worse it's competitors... It's born outdated
@biplav3210 жыл бұрын
Anri Orlow Its competitor is not gh4. Its 7dmk, nikon d300s, d4s, 1dx. Its not stills only camera. No one has 4k tv. For now 1080p is good enough. Magic lantern could probabbly make 4k work on it though. It has 2 digic 6 processors so 4k should be possible. If you want a video camera, c500 is there too. Rolling shutter is too much of an issue in dslrs anyway.

How this performs when compared with sony a77 ii?
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
The two cameras have similar specifications on many common features. The 7D Mk II is the more powerful camera of the two at the end of the day. It has a higher ISO rating, and much faster burst rate for continuous photos. It's more of an ideal camera for sports/journalism etc compared to the Sony. Below is a link to a side by side comparison of the two models on our website that I have prepared for you. There you can see every feature detailed about the two. A buffer of only 31 raw files at 10fps isn't that impressive. It's not a big step up from the 25 raw files of the original 5 years old 7D. Also, no 3.2" screen, no touchy-flippy screen like the Nikon D750, no wifi (Come on!), who cares about GPS and dual slot, not much of an improvement for ISO (12800 instead of 6400 for native iso), 50g heavier, much bigger, no 4k not even 2k, no 120p even at 720p, no focus peaking, no zebras... It was just the least exciting camera at Photokina. Sorry for the counter advertising/review you made, but this camera is too short of my expectations and I want to point out that it's 2014 not 2012.

How can you not have onboard wi-fi, slow-motion, 4K shooting in this day and age and at that price? I'm strongly considering the Samsung NX1 after this weak update from Canon. I'm also tired of the wave I get from my 7D simply because I'm panning to fast and the mirror camera cannot pick it up fast enough. To little to late Canon. STEP YOUR GAME UP!
@eelcovvliet10 жыл бұрын
Onboard Wifi would suffer from bad reception as the body is magnesium. Unlike the plastic NX1 which only has magnesium in certain places.
Small buffer - that'll be almost any Nikon then….the D7000 which I have used/ enjoyed is fab but it quits real fast….I believe the D7100 is little better.

John Lackey I love the articulated touchscreen for getting low to the ground shots. The touchscreen is very useful if you have the camera on a tripod and are taking your time composing a shot. Also doing video. This is a major weakness of this camera especially with being able to adjust the focusing speed to get that cinematic look.
