Guten abend, really a wonderful tutorial and review video, thank you, danke schön! and yet I wonder... after putting this cage, can I add an L bracket? or alternatively, how can I shoot vertical contents or take photos in portrait moode? can I put a mic on the top and sti add a light on he side yes?

thank you ... vielen dank... well, I would mount an Arca Swiss plate on the left side of the cage and use it that way. now, if you put a mic on the top it's a bit tricky to mount a light as well but if you do not have the Arca Swiss plate on the left, you can mount a light there or even on the right side (would be on top if you shoot vertical) since you have mount options (1/4"-20 Threads)

This cage has one very important design flaw. As engineered, the cage does not allow you to use the hot shoe for many accessories. For example, my Godox flash trigger just doesn't fit, and I've heard people are having the same problem with the Sony shoe-mounted mic systems. The good news is Smallrig has apparentl upgraded it and the new version appears to have fixed this (I have not tested it yet, but will soon). As far as I am concerned, the original design is too flawed to recommend.

Update. Yes, the new Smallrig cage works just fine and the hotshoe is easily accessible.

Tell me more about "the little adapter" (around 1:50 - see your hands but not what they are doing), still haven't fugured out what it is and does and how to use it. And no explanation at all coming from smallrig...

The little adapter, is to secure the camera and prevent it from twisting in the cage

Yeah should work just fine …normal tripod mount on the cage just like on the camera

well the SmallRig Universal ARRI Locating Handle 2165C would fit ... might be a bit too big but basically, all with ARRI locating mount pins so the SmallRig “Black Mamba” Top Handle 3786 for example is a bit smaller as well

die ZV-E10 ist ja eigentlich auch nicht primäre als Foto-Kamera angedacht... da würde ich eher auf a6100 gehen, wenn man was "günstig und klein" haben will ...der Sensor und so ist ja praktisch der Gleiche.

well, might be a bit tight ... but again I don't think this is a stills camera ... it really is made for video 1st... if you want a good APS-C stills camera from Sony, go with the a6600 or a6500, especially bcuz of the EVF and such!
