For example Nioh 2 and Lies of P, two of my favourite souls-likes, have strong identities of their own but it's still convenient to call them souls-likes. It only becomes a bad thing if the souls-like in question fails massively to live up to the Fromsoft standard.

while its true people may compare between the two, but the term souls-like is pretty much already its own sub-genre, the same way rogue-like is

Even if it's not a game I would call a Souls-like, a lot of games have been misses for me after playing 100's of hours of Elden Ring. the game feels so good, it's hard not to compare any 3rd person action game to it and think "this feels kind of bad to play". From Software have kind of ruined a lot of games for me unintentionally, and I'm not even a huge fan of their games beyond ER and Sekiro.

I bought the PS5 Pro because of this game. We need more action games like this for the current generation consoles and less platformers. Dont get me wron,, I too love platformers but games like Khazan are the main reason most of us buy next gen consoles or PCs

Although i like this game, action games should really stop trying to be a "souls game", i think it´s time to start coping 360 action games to make more normal but fun action games, i think the Souls formula should be left for the souls games, is the samething that happened with the arkham action gameplay formula, not every action game should be based on the souls or arkham, there might be other ways to design an action game to make it fun and good without breaking the game, again i think we were fine in the 360 days
