@@GiShockGo of course. It is a Casio after all. 😉 The PRW weights 66 grams and as I see the characters are thicker. Other than that they have the same functions+your G Shock has the dual LCD screen.

Great video, also remember its tough solar also and can charge off artificial lights too, love the look of the grey and orange but the negative display is killing me so will get the black and red in positive display.

My GW-9500 just arrived today direct from Japan & it's exactly the same as yours, I am very happy with it, but because I live in Australia we don't get that multi band 6 thing so I have to set it manually. Also the instructions I got were just in Japanese which I do not speak or read at all & my attempts to KZbin my way out of trouble have so far failed, you mentioned on doing a watch set up video so that would be very helpfull to me, cheers.

I bought first the MUDMAN GW-9500-1A4ER with negative display. After a few minutes of testing, I packed the watch back up and immediately returned the watch to the retailer. The negative display is so difficult to read, that the compass cannot be used at all. If you don't hold this Mudman with negative display at a very specific reading angle, it's not usable at all. A day later I ordered the Mudman GW-9500-1 with positive display and have now received it and …I am happy now. What's the matter with you Casio? You produce also negative display watches with STN-LCD (super twisted nematic) which gives a much better contrast (even on solar powered watches) and is so much easier to read in lower light. Why didn’t you implement this display-type in the Mudman? Wouldn't the nice compass animation then have been possible and or would the watch then have become too expensive? I can only advise against buying the Mudman with a negative display. You will regret it...definitely.

6:58 I'm surprised Casio changed the backplate screws to phillips head only on this watch. One of the easiest ways to tell a fake Casio from a real Casio was by the backplate screws. Fakes always used phillips head only screws.

This is more of a ProTrek PRW-30 or PRW-35xxx than a Mudman/Rangeman, with different casing and added dual-layer screen.

In my opinion, it is quite ok, but it is light years away from the originality and specific character of the good G-9000. The G-9000 was specific and one of a kind. This one...looks like a hybrid of the last few models and doesn't present much originality. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe it will turn out to be a hit? I compared it to g-9000, because in my opinion g-9300 is not a real mudman.

I really like this Mudman - the rudimentary moon phase put me off the last model. Instead a step counter would've made the last mudman a much better G. This is really nice & durable, but the last model looks more premium, as do the Protreks.

I don't get why so many people ask for mip display. I have a gbdh 2000 and gbx100. They looks fine but they lost the 80s feeling of shock. This gw9500 is a great alternative to the current rangeman 9400 with carbon case can proper button. (The button on rangeman make strange click nois when pressed I had three rangeman and they all have the same issue) it should also fix the broken lug issue of the rangeman. (Mine 9400 rangeman isn't broken, but it doesn't inspire confidence )

Thanks for your comment - you put into words something I couldn't put my finger on. The MIP just doesn't feel like a square. I don't own any Mips, but I do use MTG & Gravitymaster - but my favourite G of all time is my only square a 5610 - I'm an old man, 50yrs - for me the digital display is era defining & Mips don't appear to have the aesthetic - there's always room for another G, but the old school digital display is where my heart it.

As a G-shock fan since 1988 I find this new Mudmaster a bit ugly, very plasticky. I much preferred the look and design of the gwg-2000, looks much more premium and classy. Thats my opinion and you have the right to disagree of course 😊

I've seen a more legible display on a $10 watch from China. What the HELL Casio? Is this some kind of bad joke? That is a DISASTER. I know here it does not seem look too bad, but here it's being shown under direct light, most other reviews show it under natural light, and it looks appalling.

meh... it is just meh. The best design was Rangemen B1000 and Casio went "OMG we f..ed it up!" and ended production. This is a cheap copy, like you got the flagship smarthone and then cheaper phones made to look like the top of the line, except in this case Casio refuses to make any top of the line.
